I want a really Strong , Incredibly Smart ,Competent and Clever ''Immature'' Ash !!!
Such as Gold (Pokespe) ,Harata (Pokemon DPA) , Arata (Trinity 7) , Natsu (Fairy tail) , Yamada (Yamada & 7 witchs) , Luffy (One Picec) , L (Death Note) !!!
Face it , Ash is a 10 year kid Ever-boyhood or not.
KIDS ARE SUPPOSE TO BE IMMATURE !!!
Even Teenager takes a lot of time reach maturity .

I like the confident Ash from the first series mixed with serious training Ash from the D&P series and an all-around Ash from the XY series.

I really don't mind Ash from XY. He's a welcome change from previous seasons. Although he was pretty tolerable in a lot of the D P Platinum that I could catch in the morning before school. I just think that we need to see him win a big title for once. Not necissarily the Pokemon League, but something...Maybe it could give the character a better confidence boost so he won't seem to continiously be a clumsy oaf of a trainer

Listen , people doesn't have to act mature in order to be smart .
History itself is witness that A Genius act even more immaturely then normal people.

Bossun (Sket Dance )
He act way more immaturely & childishly then Ash does ! But , He 10 times more smarter then Ash ever was during this 20 year.
Current Ash act too polite and gently which make me puke ! I want him to act like the same old immature arrogant Ash while processing a clever/Smart Brain.
Basically A smart version of Original Ash .
Similar to Bossun (Sket dance) Or Izayoi Sakamaki (Mondaiji-tachi)
FYI : BW series didn't reboot Ash ! The Director simply just combine DP Ash's politeness with Original ash's stupidity.
Current Ash isn't the developed version Original Ash ether! He's a completely different Ash.
If you want to know the Smart version Original Ash then you just have to look at Ben Tennyson (Ben 10 : Omniverse)

Famon, "immature" means inexperienced and naiive. Why do you want that? It seems to me that you don't, actually. What you want is an irreverent smartass. Just listing characters you want him to be like isn't exapmle enough- how about you go more in-depth? What traits of those characters would you like to see in Ash? I don't really even know many of the characters, so I can't understand the things you keep shouting about because you don't actually give descriptions.

Beyond that, Satoshi Ookami is pretty right in saying that "immature" doesn't really go well with "incredibly smart", "competent", and "clever". The thing that would go with those are "lack of interpersonal skills", but that's not Ash at all. Ash is good with people. He's a little dumb sometimes and not as knowledgeable as others, but he is good with people. As I've said that, "incredibly smart" isn't Ash either. He's pretty good at battling and figuring things out on the fly, but not the best at catching on to things and just doesn't have an incredible reservoir of knowledge. Those are traits that have stayed with Ash for a long time now, and to change that up would be pretty out of character.

Bossun and Izayoi are both just acting immature (just like I pointed at the end of my post) + Izayoi is just fooling around. He's 2nd most OP protagonist (after Tatsuya Shiba) I've seen and his brain capacity is almost on par with Tatsuya's half (that's seriously high by the way).
But both are just acting, they are NOT immature ;)
If you meant Ash to be smart and ACT immature, that's something diametrically different from just saying immature =)

So if you meant it that way, then okay, no prob, though... if you mean him being clever and BE immature then that's something that doesn't go well =)

My point is that incredibly smart people can acknowledge their immaturity immediately and if they continue to be immature they are just acting it for fun or for some profit (okay, speaking from experience but let's omit that for now xD)

You know , It seem characters who are Rube , Straightforward , Arrogant ,Competent , Mischievous & insensitive are more popular .
Like Ichigo (Bleach) , Hikkigaya Hachman (Oregirou) , Shinichi/Conan (Detective Conan) Arata (Trinity seven) etc etc.
Basically how Ash was 20 year ago ! He wasn't just stupid & childish back then.
AG Ash has some of those trait .

However , AG series showcase Ash's Rude side so Seriously instate of presenting in a comical manner that it make Ash look more like a Jerk .

Plus , AG Ash wasn't really that competent ! He simply acted more adult-like even though he was still incompetent.
Even Drew was more competent then he was.
I mean , Ichigo (Bleach) act like rude guy and he even kick people on their face . But he still doesn't look like a Jerk , does he !

I like to see Ash's Rude , Mischievous & Arrogant side back But I don't want the series to present it seriously . Also he should be competent at the same time Because an incompetent rude protagonist are annoying.

The difference between Current Ash & Original Ash is same as Richie & Ash.
However , Ash doesn't have Richie's deduction ability .
I rather prefer Ash just having Richie's deduction ability instate of his ''Good-Boy'' Personality.
There is no point of being a ''Richie-Clone'' if Ash doesn't have Richie's deduction ability .

You know what kind of Ash I want? An Ash that is not a fake Ash, I mean one who actually has a Pikachu, and not an Inkay disguised as one, failing to keep in character by evolving into a Malamar.

I want an Ash who is confident but makes (sometimes simple) mistakes and learns from those mistakes. He's good with people and Pokemon and sometimes he says and does dumb things but he can also be smart and can think of strategic things on the fly. He can be energetic, rude, serious, and while he's generally an all-around kind of guy the people and Pokemon around him influence him to act the way he does. But at the root of it all he's that lively kid who has a goal.

I want Ash to pick up some skill while training pokemon.
Example-

-Learning how to move swiftly like a Ninja by training with Froakie/Greninja .

-Using a Bamboo sword to train Hawlchua's ''Steel Wing'' Or Other slash-based attack and becoming a good Swrodman/Kando expert in process .

-Wrestling with his Pokemon to make them & himself stronger. During Original series , Brock & Misty notice Ash to be very knowledgeable about Wrestling (Probably his father taught him) as he came up with ''Rocket Punch'' for Pikachu.

-Becoming somewhat immune to Fire & Electric attack because of being attack by Pikachu's Thunderbolt & Chraizard's Flamethrower multiple time.

-Learning ''Sky driving'' in order to Sky Battle .

Ash physically training Pokemon isn't any new . Ash did that during Jotho , Unova & Kalo However he ever got a good side-effect he suppose to get from those training.
It would awesome to see Pro''Pokemon Trainer'' can gain stronger & atheltic Body by training with Pokemon . It will make ''Pokemon Trainer'' even more cooler.

Yeah, and at least with Original Ash, he had the excuse of it being his first time as a trainer, BW Ash doesn't have that kind of excuse. It's actually a bit insulting to the audience, really. About as insulting as Gaston and LeFou loudly boasting enough details about their plan to blackmail Belle into marrying the former in a public area for them to not only deduce what they're planning to do, but also display the amoral implications of said plan in full view, yet are cheered on in Beauty and the Beast.

Honestly, when they "rebooted" BW, they really should have done it the right way by actually getting rid of Ash, Pikachu, and pretty much everyone connected to the prior series and start completely fresh.

As far as the topic, we need Ash to actually be depicted as a skilled, seasoned trainer, especially after what happened in BW. Maybe retain some childish traits, but keep the seasoned stuff to not make him look like an absolute idiot.
