Y'all hearin that? 'Tis my army of Rattata marching! like the idea.

On another note, I'm really looking forward to this year's GT! woot woot! Is the challenge thing gonna be okay with any game? 'cause i'm thinkin of digging up my old GB Color and literally blowing the dust off my Poke Yellow cart.
Theoretically speaking, the challenge should be doable with any game, as long as it's a game that you have beaten the Champion in at least once. Though right now I'm only in the drafting stages, so it's hard to say at this moment. But I would like it to be as open as possible.

I think it would also help to not raise everything all at once. Like with Bibarel, I added one to the team after every badge (or every two as I got further) and that helped. Also, would this be something that requires a full team or maybe something like 4-6?

Yeah, spacing out when you catch/hack in each team member would definitely solve some of the foreseeable problems. If I were to make the challenge, I would probably require the teams to be at least 4. I'm not a big fan of having a full team in a challenge. Also, if anyone would like to make this challenge feel free! I'm not sure if I'll decide to make a thread or not. So if anyone beats me to it, be my guest!

This looks like one of the better ideas I've seen ITT! However, I feel bad for Pokemon wth such shallow movepools (like my dear Espeon) because they will be difficult to use. An army of Dragonites would be easy to use, obvious because of their diverse movepools. We're still in the development stages (I don't really want to own this thread, because I have things to do lol) but this can be something quality.

All of these "Hunger Games" and "Game of Thrones" Challenges seem to be following a tired formula...

...possibly moves can be on only two pokemon? (i.e. two porygon-Z can have tri attack, but no more)

I was wondering if one of our stalwart hack creators could make a game in a kind of nuzlocke mode. Perhaps you could have no access to a pokecentre. Each town instead has a free elixer dispenser so you can top up your PP, a pokemart for medicines and a poke graveyard to drop of the deceased. All healing up and recovery must be done via medicines from the mart. This would certainly make any game very challenging. A player would have to decide on how to spend any money very wisely (pokeballs or medicine?).

It might also be kind of interesting if a points scoring system could be adopted. Points for trainer battles, gym badges, efficiency of event completion. Points deducted for fainted pokemon. This could add an extra competitive edge to the games.

Its probably been suggested, but how about playing a game where pokemon super effective against a gym are banned from entry. So for example if you no ground pokemon allowed in an electric gym, no water or rock types in a fire gym and so forth.

Try asking in Emulation and Rom Hacking forum on that first part. Most of us don't know how to do that. Though I think there have been Nuzlocke oriented hacks in the past, but I don't hang out there so I can't say for certain.

Point systems are difficult. It's really hard to make it not super tedious and where almost everyone has roughly the same scores in a particular game. My previous attempt at doing a challenge with a score system actually fell through and got adapted into this year's April Fools Day Challenge, haha!

I think we did have a challenge where you didn't use super effective moves at some point. If you did some digging around you could probably find it and remake it if you wanted to.

I just got an crazy idea for a challenge XD Basically Universal Randomizer updated recently - and it got Metronome mode - which means that each and every pokemon gets only metronome xD How about metronome nuzlocke? XD (Gotta hate Self-Destruct, Memento and Explosion xD )

Holy crap, what a gamble! I probably wouldn't play that personally, seems a tad tedious. But it's not a bad idea.

In other news, I'm Necrum again! Glad to be off Sage Ghetsis. I missed being Necrum. Probably never gonna change it again, haha!

Welcome back to being Necrum ^^

Yeah it's such a gamble indeed xD Especially when you get like bulk up, calm mind or swords dance or something like that following by self-destruct lol xD

Pfff, we still called you Necrum anyway. It's like how my username is Jak, but I'm still Syd. Which really gives me no reason to go back to Sydian since people still call me that. :P Doesn't matter what my username is.

AAANYWAAYYYY I just want you guys to know that after the GT event, there will be another short event in July! You can use a completed file for it or an ongoing. You'll love it. :3

That may be true, but I still like being the name I'm known by. Not every one can instantly identify who I am if I'm going around as Sage Ghetsis, unlike you who are a really well known staff member. I feel most comfortable in this name though, haha.

Forgot to mention I'm done with college for the summer! So it's time to kick some challenges butt. First order of business, what color do you guys think I should do for mono color?

Well, Red and Blue (for colors, not games) give you the most options, although a majority of the Blue ones are Water-types. If those feel too easy for you, Brown has a lot of ones you can use too. So yeah, Red or Blue are probably your best bets for a first one.

I have to get back to my Ultimate Red with Ruby; I took a break from my X Wedlocke to marathon Fire Red and then got three badges for Ruby in one day, now that i'm done with X there I gotta power through Ruby (i'm doing another Wedlocke on Heart Gold, so the Mono-Color will be a good fallback when I don't feel like playing that). But I feel that Ruby isn't gonna be much fun since I just used Vileplume, Electrode and Seaking in Fire Red.

How about using the color green on Red or FireRed?
You should use pink and name aaaaaall the Pokemon after me! :)
Green and pink are both good. I can't really do FireRed right now though, and actually had a Gen 5 game in mind since I don't have any challenges going on that gen. There's a ton of green Pokemon I love, so I'll do that. I think I'll do it on White Version, as there are a lot of Green Pokemon in the Unova Dex I want to use, like Marractus and Garbodor. I'll do Pink if I do another Mono Color, 'kay Syd? :P

Green is a fun color. The first challenge event was basically a glorified green monocolor haha. But I had tons of fun with it! Legendaries were allowed and I did NOT ONE, but TWO challenges and finished both before St. Patrick's Day. Good times...maybe the only good time in 2011. lol
