  • I've been getting back into tumblr as of late, so I figured a topic on the matter could do.

Do any of y'all have a tumblr? What do you guys generally post on tumblr? Are you more of a liker/reblogger than a content poster? Are you popular on tumblr?

Also, I'll allow this in here, but feel free to share your tumblr URLs in here if y'all want to! :D

  • I am a tumblr addict, although I am not on as much as I wanted to. It's way better than twitter and it allows me to interact with other people who share the same fandom as I do. It's also become a hub for me to hang with my NASCAR peeps. <3

    url is ariiyanna.

I love tumblr so much. I'm always reblogging more than liking. I reblog a bunch of stuff like old cartoons and tv shows, video game stuff, anime stuff, porn stuff, food, and hilarious gifs like the one in my sig.

  • I have a Tumblr, and visit just about every day, but I'm more of a lurker than anything. I don't reblog stuff or post original content, but I do follow a number of people, so it looks like a lurker's life for me.

  • I love tumblr! I always use it for my avatars/signatures; there is so much amazing art content on there that it baffles me what people can create. Maybe one day I'll have a page for myself, but I only have an account to like pictures that I might use for future PC themes.

  • I reblog a lot of Pokémon stuff on tumblr, and recently got back into it when one of my newer IRL friends mentioned they had a tumblr. Like Matt, I also get a lot of theme ideas from tumblr, and it's a great resource when it comes to searching for artwork.

My tumblr is terrabytee if y'all want to follow :3

  • I have a love/hate relationship with Tumblr. My opinion of the community gets a little lower with each passing week, but there's some real funny stuff if you look in the right places.

My url is harmoniousfusion. I mostly just reblog stuff, no original content unless I have really strong feelings about something.

  • I had a tumblr. I suppose it still exists and is accessible, although I have left it and don't see any reason to return to it.

I posted a very small handful of content. Mostly I'd like or reblog stuff. By and large, I do not understand it. I'll reblog something and then someone might reblog that further and that's well and good and all, but who cares? No one's talking. I've tried numerous times over the years to get into tumblr and I never heard from anyone. I'd make comments or reach out, nothing back. On my end, nothing to me unprompted. It's just the most unsocial social media I've ever encountered.

I'll see pics and reblogs of long tumblr comment threads and I just think "how do these happen?". It was such an empty experience for me, talking to no one. If I find something I like, I can just bookmark it. Might as well if no one is commenting on what you're doing.

I don't think I'd have time and interest enough for a tumblr account on my own. Sometimes if I find my way into an interesting tumblr (or chain of tumblrs), I can spend a lot of time looking through it but I wouldn't really know what to post on one of my own. I don't feel like blogging, can't even do it here on PC :p and I don't do creative stuff other than writing. Hm. Maybe I could post short stories, haha.

My most used website easily. Nice art, funny stories/gifs, I follow some cool people and like reading their trivial thoughts or parts of their day.

You have to dig a little to find blogs you enjoy, but they are definitely there.

  • I used tumblr a bit a while back. I'm not sure why, but I always lose interest in the site. It's weird, because that's never happened with, say, Twitter.

  • I really like Tumblr but it's such a major time sink. I find myself refreshing my dash so often if I let myself keep it open in a tab... :( I've been pretty busy with school since it started up again in September, so I've been disappearing off tumblr for weeks at a time and it kind of sucks. But at the same time, it's ridiculously easy to ignore the site.

I don't really like using Tumblr just to reblog stuff, so I tend to only visit when I have things to post. I usually just post translations of Tales series comics, and then I'll reblog other fandom stuff (mostly Tales though, since most of my followers are originally there because of the Tales comics) while I'm online. Tumblr has a terrible interface though, so even if I want to be more active and follow more people, I just can't. My dash moves too quickly when I have more than ~150 blogs followed and it gets too difficult to keep up with. I could see myself using tumblr more often even during my downtimes if I could make lists of people. Like I'd religiously keep up with my friends' blogs if I could but as it stands now, I have to manually visit their pages if I want to see what they've been posting because otherwise it just takes too long. I can't even follow all of my friends because if they post a lot and don't tag well, they clutter up my dash way too much.

In my ideal world, everyone would use Tumblr for fandom stuff, Livejournal would come back for actual long-form personal blogging, and everyone would have a twitter for their by-the-minute thoughts... But alas, only a handful of my tumblr friends use twitter, most of my twitter friends have no interest in tumblr, and no one uses LJ for anything anymore. :(

Anyway, I'm not super active right now but if you like Tales of... I guess my blog's alright! Username is, unsurprisingly, Cherrim. :P

  • My general opinion on the site is that it's just another blogging site, albeit with a bigger userbase. The userbase in general seems to be of below-average intelligence. That's about the sum of my thoughts on it.

I have a Tumblr, and have had one since before the site really blew up. But since then, I've had a strange relationship with it, and haven't ever truly understood its purpose. I first started using it for a little bit of everything. Mostly just re-posting art from my Deviantart though, and an occasional written entry. It didn't have much of a purpose as Livejournal was my primary blog and I have never been a big fan of reblogging.

It's nice to share things and all, but I find it kind of jarring how most people on Tumblr don't actually create their own content. They just go around parroting other people's like some kind of strange spambot at least 16 or so times a day. When I found this out, I unfollowed most of the people on my list. I didn't like my feed getting so clogged up that I could distinguish nothing but a long line of gifs. I also lost interest in Tumblr for years, because it just didn't seem like my kind of place to socialize.

I returned only a few months ago in a more permanent capacity, as I determined that I needed a place to basically splurge all of my thoughts and a whole lot of personal stuff. My Livejournal was outdated and nobody was really using that anymore, so I repurposed my Tumblr to do that. It is now mostly full of long-winded written entries that cover a lot of personal issues and thoughts, much like a more traditional diary, with some occasional bits of art and pictures.

Sadly though, Tumblr still isn't a great place for me to socialize. When people follow me, I can't tell if they're robots or actually people, because the communicating between others is kind of awkward. I'm still not sure how the responding and commenting works, but it seems very horrible and seems to operate on reblogging another person's post and typing a response in that. This is a blog website. Comments should be a priority. Yet it just seems like it isn't the type of place where people actually use words to talk about things substantially. I often feel like I'm posting things into a void, and like the few likes/reblogs/followers I receive are just from either robots or people who didn't actually read the content/thought the title sounded cool.

But that's okay. My Tumblr is mostly for myself anyway. And for my fiance to read my thoughts as well, because I communicate them much better to him when they are written. It's only public because it feels more purposeful to me to share my thoughts with others. Keeping it private makes the endeavor feel pointless.

I won't post a link to my Tumblr, because I honestly doubt that most people who would be on Tumblr would find it very interesting and might be made uncomfortable by a stranger divulging such personal things. If you are interested though, you can either ask me for a link or just Google it. It really isn't that hard to find.

  • Here's mine:
    http://talcumbrides.tumblr.com/

Sadly, Tumblr has become a place for the self-righteous to blow their thoughts around.
What ever happened to striving to overcome adversity, rather than blaming anyone and everyone?

BUT, I'm glad that they got the porn under control
Seriously, the porn kept me off of it for a while

Like, no, I don't want to scroll through my feed and suddenly seeing someone getting plowed
Especially if I'm on Tumblr at school

I visit Tumblr every once in a while so that I could grab some images and whatnot, but am not a heavy user. In fact, I don't believe I've ever created an account there. Well, perhaps I might've, but don't exactly remember what it was called nor what its password possibly could be. Would I create another one at some point in future? I don't know, probably not.

In general, I'm personally not much of social media person. I suppose PC could be categorized here, in some ways, since this is where I get to engage with other Pokémon fans and whatnot, but I still limit myself when it comes to sites like this. Used to have Facebook, but wasn't much of a fan of how all their system worked, so wound up quitting soon after. Same goes for Twitter.

  • Tumblr is like a fangirl's dream. It's the place where you can unite yourself with your fandom and also show off what you love.

Fun facts: My account was originally created a while after I joined PC and started with only had one post but as time went by it got bigger and now I post on a very frequent basis, and with that comes a huge follower count. My page is multi-fandom (in fact you'll be surprised what I really love), mainly tends to be Pokemon stuff (duh), music, pics of well cute things (because I think cute gets you more attention) and some of my personal rants. Most of the stuff on my page is reblogged but you may see some stuff originally posted by me on occasion.

My URL is oshyhikari.tumblr.com if you're looking for it. The name's pretty logical for someone like me given my love of Oshawott. I also use the site as my major source for pics in my avatars/sigs so chances are that most of the time, you will be seeing a pic that came from Tumblr in my themes.

  • Tumblr is a great place to unwind and look at the pretty artwork and the funny posts. It's also a good place to get tutorials and references.

I normally upload the gifs I use for my signatures over there. Who knows, you might have stumbled upon them once. P:

So yes, I use tumblr. My main tumblr is illusione-tempus.tumblr.com, feel free to follow me. I'm also planning to make an art blog over at tumblr, and I'll be sure to put the link at my signature when it happens. :>

  • Tumblr is the best. I couldn't use it before at work because of the NSFW material, but thanks god now it can be flagged and blah.

I reblog anime (Pokemon, shounen ai), sometimes I upload some things I did myself (Especially from Umineko) and some music stuff. Feel free to follow me, I will surely follow back :)
