I usually say hello to new promotions and engage in conversations with them. Other than that, I don't go overly crazy about them. Maybe some would think otherwise, though.

Not really. I don't even know a majority of people here. Usually the person who gets modded or becomes a staff member is someone I don't really know. That's basically why I just don't care that much. I mean, I'm not saying they have no reason to want to celebrate it though. It's a pretty big milestone for them so I do respect that.

I never notice any mod promotions/demotions until I see someone with a blue, red, or yellow font on his/her username.

I'm colorblind so I can't tell the difference half the time just looking at somebody's name. However I do look at the community announcement thread thing every now and then just so I don't get completely lost. But really I don't care unless it's someone who I actually talk to regularly. But I don't think that I've ever talked to someone regularly and then they got modded, either they're a mod or they're probably not going to be a mod. So I don't put much thought into it. And I hardly ever notice demotions until long after they've happened.

I don't even know who all of the existing mods are. So I wouldn't even notice someone being demoted/promoted. There's so many damn username colors here and they all kind of blend together into a gigantic blob. I only notice people who DON'T have a username color, and I'm like: "Wow! It's just a regular old user! What a rare sight!"

Basically, I'm not very close with this community nor am I a fixture of it by any means. There's only one person that I'm really friends with from here, and we were friends before we even joined. The staff, their happenings, and politics aren't special to me at all - they're just... kind of there just like everyone else.

Now, when Mac was fired, I noticed that. But that's just 'cause we talked all the time :pink_nod:

I'd also notice if anything happened to Lilith.

I'm someone who notices the name color changes in a heartbeat, but I guess that's because I find myself having conversations with staff members every now and then. But in terms of those who are new to staff, I always picture someone who I spotted being active in a section and if that person became a mod then I'd mostly mention "you were just the person who I was thinking of who would be the next mod".

I'm also fast at noticing demotions, especially if the staff member in question is one who's been in the role for a very long time and it'd feel weird for me to adjust seeing them in a different color.

Eeehh I never really notice when a user has been promoted to mod. In fact, I'd probably only ever notice if a mod got demoted if it was one of the mods I'm already familiar with. There are so many bolded blue names I can't even keep track.

I keep a special notebook full of all my fave mods and I print out their pictures and I add stickers to each page for each mod every time they do something good but I add red crosses every time they do something bad and I count how many times they get mentioned on the forum each time and I count the reply counts in their anniversary/birthday threads and I read all of their VMs and I like it when they tell people off and I look at them all in the photo album longingly all day and I collect their home addresses proceeding to sit outside their houses staring intensely from the shade of a bush or nearby car and I squeal like a fangirl as I film them and upload all the live footage to my mod blog and I quit my job and stopped seeing my friends or doing anything else because I enjoy the entirety of my life being dedicated to these wonderful people.

Quit being a creep, no wonder you scare all the mods. Take a shower, shave your neckbeard, get rid of your ponytail and lose some weight, basement dweller. All you're doing is wasting your time.

Oh, Mod promotions? Sure. I notice them. As a wandering itinerant PC Historian, I'd be remiss if I didn't notice when people get promoted. But I don't obsess about it.

I just make my note of it and move on. If I really thought they deserved it, I'll praise them accordingly. Normally I'm pretty good at predicting promotions anyways; so they seldom take me by surprise. If I know you and like you; chances are you've already got the stuff to be a mod.

As someone who helps select and vote on candidates to mod, I would be a pretty awful super mod if I didn't know that much, lol.

I occasionally get lucky and guess new mods correctly. I mentioned offhandedly that Altairis was next to be promoted and she ended up being next. I have people I could see becoming mods, but not sure where they'd go. :)
