The reverse of my previous thread "Non-Legendary worthy of Legendary status".

According to you, which existing Legendary Pokemon(s), does NOT deserve its Legendary status & why?

The one Pokemon that comes to my mind is Heatran.

Well, it has a pretty bad design, so that's reason enough for me (sorry Heatran lovers).;)

Apart from that, well it has a crappy moveset, vulnerable to moves like Attract & Captivate etc. as it isn't genderless & I've hardly seen anyone use it in battle.

    So my choice - Heatran

Any non-boxart or non-event legendary shouldn't be legendary.

Only legendary Pokemon should be Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Palkia, Dialga, Giratina, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Yvltal, Xerneas, and Zyguarde along with all the event Legendaries. Anything else should be a breedable non legendary or at least pseudo-legendary.

Heatran gets plenty of use competitively, so there's that.....

If there's a Pokemon I'd say that's not really worthy of being considered a legendary....idk, maybe like Articuno or something. It's just a big ice bird. And it sucks.

The thing I like about legendaries is the backstory, and the fact that they have all this mythology behind them. Therefore I dislike Genesect as a legendary... The others feel right in there place as legendaries I feel.

I am thinking shaymin, heatran, jirachi, and celebi. They are all good I their own way but not legendary in my opinion. Rare and unique yeah not legendary. When I think legendary I think of something that is a complete powerhouse and of course all pokemon can be a powerhouse with evs and ivs but those pokemon seem kind of useless to me. I don't use legendaries. I refuse to use them. They are op and when I lose it is usually due to them having a legendary and I dont. But the pokemon I have listed I have never really lost to. They are easy to take out quickly

For me, I would say Phione due to it's low stats and because it is breedable doesn't make it look like a legendary in my eyes especially since a lot of water types can outclass it.

I disagree. I think that legendary status depends more on ability and story as opposed to strength. I agree with Shaymin and Heatran, as they seem to have little story behind them. But Jirachi can grant wishes and Celebi can traverse time. To me, those are both worthy of legendary status.

To add to the list, Genesect, Meloetta, and the Legendary Birds. Genesect i just weird, Meloetta is a music pokemon, and I still don't understand what the legendary birds were for.

    Articuno and Moltres.

To me, Articuno is a blue Delibird. I hate the thing, and I don't think its regal appearance makes it look any more deserving of the rank of "Legendary Pokemon". I feel similar about Moltress, too, since Ho-Oh exists, but Zapdos actually looks like some sort of thunder god bird thing, so I like it.

Other than jirachi can grant wishes what esls is special about it. Not much really. Other than celebi travelling through time what's special about it. Not much really. They have a backstory and all but a few pokemon can learn the move wish. And heck Dialga is like the time lord. it can distort time. To me the other are just pseudo legendaries. They are rare and hard to find but not all that the legendaries truly are.

Going by that, Mew would also not be a legendary. All Mew can do is learn nearly every move, with a stat total of 600, the same as Jirachi and Celebii. That 600 is also a larger total than the Legendary Dogs and the three original Regis.

I'm not sure if there's any legendary Pokémon out there that are not deserving of their status, in all honesty. At least from my perspective. Every legendary there is right now have some sort of story behind them, whether it be little or small, and this is one thing that sets them apart from all other Pokémon. On top of this, most legends also seem to carry more-than-average stats, which I feel is another thing.

However, personally, I do believe that we have some legendaries laying around which could be expanded on in terms of story. Regigigas, for example; we do understand it's merely a statue, for most part, and our only way to activate its power is by gathering all other Regis together in a single place, but aside from that, do we know anything else, if at all?

Few other Pokémon that could possibly fit this description, in my opinion, are Meloetta, Heatran, and Volcanion,

The ability to learn every tm makes up for the balanced stats. Then on top of that thee is also more story to mew. Which includes mewtwo. Mew not being a legendary and mewtwo being would be would like manaphy not being legend but phone is

Most of the legendary Pokemon are based on mythical creatures like Ho-Oh and the legendary birds, but I think there's a few that don't really deserve to be called legendaries. Like Meloetta. She's a Vocaloid Pokemon who can turn into a break dancer... yay? Why's she an event legendary again? The Musketeer trio gets a mention too because aside from protecting Pokemon during the war in Unova they don't have much background and their designs aren't exactly... legendary. Why do they all have boots? At least Keldeo actually has a sword in the form of his horn; the others don't have any real weaponry on them. And there's Regigigas who is a... um... what.

Those are really the only ones I'd consider non-legendary though. Even if Celebi is outclassed by Dialga it can still travel through time, which is no easy feat, and Shaymin has the ability to make any place burst into bloom which would certainly get it noticed. Being legendary doesn't necessarily mean being strong or large; it just means mythical in some way, and Shaymin, Jirachi, Mew, and Celebi certainly have abilities that would make others consider them mythical.

None. I just use Legendary Pokemon (Pokemon that have a legend behind them) and Mythical Pokemon ("Novelty" Pokemon that are rare are hardly seen, hence "myth") to describe them.

I see Legends as Pokemon who can cause disaster or are important to an environment (namely the version mascots, and trios)
and then I see Mythical Pokemon who are just little novelties who don't really do anything important, but have the ability to do stuff like grant wishes, calm stuff, etc (like event legends) - of course some fit into each but yeah, that's how i see it.

If I had to pick one that I don't think should be legendary, I'd pick Mewtwo or Genesect, simply because they're man-made, and I think they should have their own class.

Yeah, I always found the Three Musketeers thing weird, but I liked it for some reason. Probably because of Keldeo. :)

I still don't understand the whole Meloetta thing. I feel like they should have given Chimecho another evolution instead. That would have been way better.

I wasn't saying Mew isn't a legendary. Just that by going through what you were saying, it sounded like Mew probably wouldn't fit the criteria.
