Game Version: Sacred Gold (Ultra hard hack of Heart Gold)
    Number of Pokemon: 6
    Exclude NFEs: Yes
National Dex: Yes. ANY Pokemon from Gen 1-4
Restrictions: No more than two Pokemon of the same typing.

Because this game is really quite difficult, I was wondering if I would be allowed to hack in my team members with egg moves and favorable natures etc.

    Hope I get a good team! :D

  • You get Quagsire, Ursaring, Hitmonlee, Jigglypuff, Butterfree and Magcargo~

Thank you, but, could I ask for alternatives to Quagsire and Mama Puff. They're on my favorites list and I wanted to try and use nothing but 'new' Pokemon. :pink_nod:

Edit: Also upon further investigation, Ursaring is impossible to get in Silver version without trading or going to an event. Sorry if I'm causing issues! :pink_confused:

Okay then. Anyways, I got started and have just beaten Bugsy. I decided against hacking in my team because I could find everyone before the first gym. Here's my team: (Note: Any illegal move or ability my Pokemon seem to have are legal in this game because it is a rom hack)

Taco the female Lombre - Level 20
    Timid nature
    Swift Swim

    Leech Seed
    Water Gun
    Nature Power
    Absorb

Noir the male Umbreon - Level 21
    Bashful nature
    Synchronize

    Tackle
    Tail Whip
    Quick Attack
    Bite

Flappy the male Psyduck - Level 22
    Naive nature
    Damp

    Scratch
    Tail Whip
    Confusion
    Water Pulse

Pollen the male Hoppip - Level 15
    Hardy nature
    Chlorophyll

    Bullet Seed
    Poison Powder
    Stun Spore
    U-turn

Gold the female Sandslash - Level 24
    Lonely nature
    Sand Veil

    Crush Claw
    Rock Tomb
    Rollout
    Thief

Grizzly the female Teddiursa - Level 23
    Sassy nature
    Pickup

    Fury Swipes
    Leer
    Faint Attack
    Rock Tomb

Hey guys. I just found out that I had already registered for this challenge before. Can I complete it with that team after I'm done with this one?

  • So it's been a few days but I've finally started it. My random Pokemon challenge! :)

My given team is: Furret, Stantler, Hitmonlee, Sandslash, Butterfree and Magcargo~

    Meet my Sentret El Morro!
    Spoiler:

I just realized something horrible though. Pokemon Silver has a lot of differences for the Pokemon I want to use compared to Gold/Crystal. I'm literally not going to have another Pokemon till Goldenrod city. Sandshrew is only purchasable in Silver at the Game Corner. Before that El Morro here is the only Pokemon I can use. Caterpie line is only able to be gotten at the Bug Catching Contest, Stantler isn't till after Whitney, Tyrogue isn't till after I can use waterfall, and Slugma isn't even found till post E4. o_O

It shouldn't be that much of an issue though I suppose, it's not like GSC are difficult games. They're just fairly slow, but that's not too bad I suppose.

    Update #1:
Falkner is the easiest gym leader in the history of Pokemon. Even Brock is more difficult.
    Spoiler:

This also happened one trainer battle later!
    Spoiler:

    Update #2:
Rockets went down without any issues. A thought came to my mind though. The rival in the Johto games has a Gastly on their team.
    Spoiler:

What would I do if this was HG/SS? With the team that I'm issued it would be impossible to get through it since even if it was possible to get mud-slap as a TM Gastly would be unaffected by it. This isn't an issue since this is second generation and Gastly doesn't have levitate, but my curiosity makes me ask what would happen here. Furret gets sucker punch at level 38 but I don't think it would be reasonable to make someone grind to level 38 at the second gym...

That being said rival went down like a chump here.
    Spoiler:

Speaking of destroyed Pokemon trainers, Bugsy went down without a hitch too. I feel a bit overleveled at the moment, but, I suppose that's what happens when you can only really use one Pokemon. Not that I'd know anything about that! ;)
    Spoiler:

    Now to grind for 700 coins... ;-;

You'd have to make sure you don't remove Foresight from Sentret's/Furret's moveset because it enables you to hit Gastly. The only problem with that is that you have to plan ahead and if you accidentally delete it, well.... you'll probably have to restart, or at least catch a new Sentret. This is how I'd do it for a Furret solo run (which I will get to eventually).
You're not too overleveled and you get a new team member soon, Silver (and Soul Silver/ Gold and Heart Gold) are known for their low level gaps. I think even the Kanto gym leaders barely get to level 50 and the wild Pokémon in Kanto have the same levels as Red and Blue (meaning Route 1 = level 2 - 4). So eventually, with a full team, it won't be that 'easy' to get levels fast.

You can have: Hypno, Galvantula, Archeops, Crawdaunt, Carbink, and Infernape! Unless by 1 starter you meant only the Hoenn ones. In which case, go Sceptile.

I came here to update, but I seem to have misplaced my game... Suffice it to say it's a terrible spectacle.

Can I have a re-roll on Hypno please? I have not found away to get Hypno or Drowzee in Gen 6 yet. Also is Sceptile allowed to Mega Evolve

  • How's about Stantler then? ^^ And yes, I'd think it can mega evolve once you get the stone.

Somebody a cry just sent me a Hypnosis so u am gonna breed it and raise the Drowzee to Hypno. So then the team will be Hypno, Carbink, Crawdaunt, Galvantula, Archeops and Sceptile. Gonna be an interesting team

You get Noctowl, Gallade, Leafeon, Steelix, Cherrim and Armaldo.

I should do one of these some day, but I don't wanna do too much pokémon at once so I'll just stick to the one challenge I'm doing right now.
