  • No one ever likes the main character :'(
    Is it bad that I didn't notice that you shared names with her till Sync actually made that post? Like, when you originally posted something along the lines of "I have my name in there lol" I was left wondering if I'd find someone named Tapioca in there or something. XD; Yeah, yeah, silly of me.

    Then Sync makes that post and I'm like. Oh. I forgot. She's Risa too LOL

    On a different note (but more related to this quote I guess?), I like MCs. :3 Like, I said I liked Risa, remember? :3

    OH, and I realized this after watching 18 friggin episodes of the show - Risa has the same voice actor as Nami from One Piece. Both have similar hair color and sort of similar faces too. XD;
    Nami has Risa horribly outclassed in the bust department, tho XD

    Well obviously, with all the lags and delays, they don't consider it long running xD
    But it IS long-running. Even if we take Togashi's lazy ass into consideration and his extremely slow pace into account, you cannot deny that it was anything but a long-running show. Madhouse, with HxH, managed to show that they can handle a longer show if need be. And they're willing to pick it up if they deem it popular enough or necessary for their good. HxH, the anime, would've gone on if not for the fact that Togashi's been slacking his ass off for so long.

    So yes. I'd say them picking up another long-running shounen is as likely as BONES getting it. Toei or Studio Pierrot getting their dirty hands on them is still more likely since they like to keep all the goddamn popular mainstream ones to themselves but yeah. :p Glad these studios, along with Production I.G, are getting more of these shounen shows. Makes watching them a lot better of an experience. Really glad for Sports series, in particular. They've been getting excellent treatment. Both Haikyuu and Kuroko - fantastic handling of the series by I.G.

  • Hunter x Hunter? ?_? I've been tempted to watch it only because it's popular. Other than that, I haven't felt like watching it because of the sheer length. Maybe some day.

    Summon Delays in attack mode, use Polymerization to fuse Delays with Lags in your hand and you get HxH =)

    In other words, before anything new is released, you will surely finish up everything =D

  • Gosh I absolutely love Hunter X Hunter 2011! It's been my favourite anime for such a long time now - whenever I got over the void of finishing Inazuma Eleven.

    Definitely worth the watch despite it being quite a long anime. Tempted to get into the manga, but 5ever Hiatus X Hiatus is really stopping me from doing so :s

    Hah, and I'm returning to Uni tomorrow. For a ten-fifteen day continuous stretch of exams. ;_____; Its almost as if you came back to fill in my presence or something XD;

    Another coincidence? We both have shounen hero anime based themes right now. Granted, they're both very different from each other, but still! This is a parody while HeroAcademia is probably a pure-blooded shounen I guess? Haven't seen it. Waiting for the BONES adaptation!

    Welcome back! I've always wanted to seriously get into the new series. But all association I've had with the series is me having watched the older series - TVs series + all the OVAs and having read a good amount of the Chimera ant arc from the manga (with horrible art and huge, massive walls of text). I've been planning to get Chimera ant arc started for real for well over a year now. But I just put it off for god knows what reason each time. XD;

    Oh no :(( Don't leave when I just got back xD Is it just until those 15 days then though? I'm technically finished for Uni until next March so I'll be back here for a while!

    I never got to watch the older series (because I don't think it aired here as far as I know), but I've actually been meaning to go back and watch the old series myself xD
    Chimera ant arc was okay for me in general, but I guess since I caught up to the anime at that point while it was airing, I didn't end up liking it as much as I could have - especially since Greed Island right before ended up being one of my favourites.

    Just 15 days. I'll be back in full force after that. :D

    The old series is pretty good. Having seen quite a bit of both the series (for comparison's sake!), I'd say that the older series manages to get the atmosphere really well. Especially in arcs like Yorknew - the bright, colorful palette hurt the new adaptation in my eyes more than it helped it in yorknew arc.

    I love Greed Island arc too. It was a great arc. But most people hold the opinion that Chimera ant arc is where HxH truly transcends "just a good show" and becomes "great". But different strokes for different folks, after all, so I'll just have to wait and find out on my own. ;P

    Now to stop fangirling about Undertale and catch up on my backlog.

    Oh god the Spring, Summer, and Fall 2015 backlog. Not to mention the other stuff I want to watch. It hurts.

  • Did everyone die these last few months to the real world too :pp Section seems a bit quieter than when I went back to school I swear the title of this thread hasn't changed either.

    Pretty much most of the things from this season I'm watching is airing on Sunday which I guess is good... but I don't get anything done... I'll be spending the next while till I get back to uni next year to watch as many things on my "On-Hold" list and my "Planned-to-watch" as I can.

    But hey, DIGIMON ADVENTURE TRI IN LESS THAN 5 HOURS!! - Who's excited?

  • I'd imagine most of us got busy with other commitments. My activity here dropped with my other commitments demanding more of me as well as a noticeable slowdown in my anime consumption rate at the start of the new season.

    Hell, lately, I've been playing Civlization IV rather than bothering to finish this week's episode of Yuru Yuri San Hai, the show I was most excited for this season, let alone touching anything else that's longer than 2 minutes.

  • It is still weird to see all of us get busy at the same exact time frame, though lmao. Still, I've got finals for about a week more. Then I'll be posting here like no tomorrow :3

    @Digimon Adventure Tri airing on Nov 21st on CrunchyRoll - DOES THAT MEAN WE'LL GET TO WATCH THE MOVIE? LIKE, FANSUBS AND STUFF?! SOON?!?!

    Gosh I really loved it! So much goodness I'm gonna change my theme right now xD Who else was I discussing that we'd be changing our themes when DigiTri came out?

    Will write my full thoughts on the actual thread because spoilerino goodness.

  • Easy answer: Bad season is bad.

    Other than OPM and Owarimono, there are almost no series that would get attention from all PC A&M regulars.
    And I'm personally more interested in my beloved LN adaptations (Rakudai and Asterisk).

  • Watching Leftovers, myself. Namely Gintama, Dragon Ball SUUUUPER, and Ushio & Tora.

    But yeah, I'd agree with Satoshi. Dunno if I'd call it bad (largely since I haven't seen the bulk of it) but there's definitely nothing that a good deal of A&M would be watching, certainly. Hell, other than Teekyu and Araragigatari most of the new shows I'm watching this season are solely novelty. Brave Beats, Komori is Suffering Can't Decline, Anime de Training, Hakone, specifically. 'S not a bad thing, though; if Danchigai was any indication, I can get pretty attached to shows like these.

    With that in mind, anyone got any suggestions for shows this season? After a particularly hilarious first episode of Osomatsu-san, I do know that I'm going to follow that, and I'd recommend at least that episode (which had to be pulled from legal streaming sites and broadcast, so you know it's gonna be some kinda fun). I also watched the first episode of Sakurako, though I haven't jumped on that train yet. But there are a bunch of other shows this season that I haven't touched and I'm interested to see whether there are any you guys would recommend.

    Save for One-Punch Man. It isn't that I don't like it, but my bookstore carries the manga (with just the most gorgeous cover art) and I'm debating whether I should follow the anime or the manga.

  • Season has Noragami Aragoto, Haikyuu S2, OPM, Owarimonogatari (I find this lackluster to a degree so far, to be pretty frank. Compared to SS. But it still is pretty decent). I can't even bring myself close to calling it a bad season. But, well, if you look at it from the perspective of the people who probably haven't seen the first seasons of the said shows (3 out of the 4 I mentioned are sequels lol), then it makes sense. Rest is varies a lot in quality with I think one-two standout shows, at max.

    GO FOR BOTH. @OPM. The manga is GORGEOUSLY drawn and definitely does deserve a read. You cannot pass on it, definitely. There are certain sequences in the manga that'll blow you away. Just downright insane sequences.

    But that doesn't mean you can skip on the anime. The OPM anime is one of the best adaptations to have come out in recent years. PLEASE, PLEASE follow both. I'm practically begging you so consider it!

    And my leftovers include Gintama and Ushio to Tora, too. Gintama's SA arc starts december 2nd and Ushio's story has taken a more serious and main-plot-relevant turn in the past few episodes - both make me really look forward to what's to come. Good stuff, good stuff.

    You might wanna give the new Gundam and Subete ga F ni Naru a shot. Haven't seen either myself but a friend who's following them has been enjoying them a lot. Gundam, this time, is going for the edge factor it seems - edgy cruel MC and whatnot. He's loving it. And the latter, Subete, looks like it is one of those gripping murder mystery animu - the impressions I've been reading of it online haven't been negative at all. So yeah, might wanna check them out.

    I'd urge you to watch both Noragami Aragoto and Haikyuu S2 but you'll HAVE to catch up with their previous seasons first. Both are excellent shows and definitely deserve a watch. Their second seasons have been blowing things outta the water so far. <3

  • I wouldn't think this season is bad per se but just really dry and idk I'm not impressed with a lot of the new stuff showing. (I feel like I'm the only one who isn't into One Punch Man.) The fact that I'm even watching Valkryie Drive Mermaid which is a homoerotic mess just shows how low I've had to lower my standards to obtain entertainment (not to mention, of the floozy kind).

  • Eh, I'm not into One Punch Man either. In fact, the only two shows I'm watching this season are a) follow up seasons of b) ridiculously cute SOL series.

    2nd season of Is the Order A Rabbit? and 3rd season of Yuru Yuri.

    The lack of appealing idol anime this season has me sad.
