The playoffs are finally here! Or, they will be, starting tomorrow. Can the Warriors cap off a historic season by winning the title? Or will that meaningless regular season record remain meaningless as another team wins the title?

I don't really see anyone in the west stopping the Warriors unless the Spurs/Thunder upset them. There should be some pretty good games in the east but the Cavs my favorite to reach the finals. I think if it's a rematch of last year's finals we'll get the same result...

  • Cleveland should make it out of the East without much trouble but I don't see anybody taking down Golden State unless there's a miraculous upset from SA/OKC. By some weird-ass twist of fate or upset and the Spurs or Thunder make it out of the West, I think Cleveland can handle the Thunder and win a series in six against them but would have much more trouble on their hands with the Spurs, like the rest of the NBA has had this year, haha. San Antonio has had Lebron's number for a long time now and a 67-win San Antonio team would probably crush the Cavs in a Finals series.

We are so cursed. LeBron comes back and then, hey, this Golden State team comes out of nowhere to win a billion games.

If we don't win it this year or next year, it's over for another decade.

  • Boston fan here. That Celtics game was damn close. They really shot themselves in the foot early on but man that team is gritty fighting back. Reminded me of the last game of the season when they came back 30 points down against the Miami Heat. Hopefully they can win Game 2 when it ships back to Boston.

I still think the Celtics win that series. The Hawks have been heavily overrated for two seasons straight now.

Still, the Hawks made it to the Finals last year. I like the Celtics chances, but it will be a tough matchup against either the Pacers or Raptors as they don't match up well at all against either of those teams.

Very lopsided match-ups in round 1. I can see the Warriors, Spurs, Thunder, and maybe Heat all advancing with a 4-0 sweep. The West is very interesting but I don't see anyone topping the Warriors in a 7 game series. They will be in the finals and probably beat the Cavs in 5 or 6, maybe 7 if the Cavs step up their game. I'd really like to see the Thunder in the finals but I just don't see them being able to outlast the Warriors.

Yeah, the Hawks made it to the ECF and got completely embarrassed. That 5 player "player of the month" award was a sham last season.

  • I personally fancy the Spurs to make it out of the West. Their regular season was very strong, but obviously overlooked for understandable reasons. I must admit my only experience watching GSW in a playoff series was last year's finals were they pretty unconvincing considering how weakened the Cavs were. That might cloud my judgement somewhat, but I still will back the Spurs.

I'd like to hope the Cavs could produce a decent series if they even make it to the Finals.

Well, the second round of the Playoffs are starting, and the Spurs are still looking great. We'll have to see if the Thunder can recover from whatever went wrong in Game 1.

Golden State beat Portland, and now it's time to see how the other teams do in the second round.

That starting 5 was playing insane ball for the month of January. That was far from a sham.

Well, for Game 2, the Thunder could, actually, y'know, show up. But the Spurs have been insane all season and I think they take the series in 6.

I'm hoping the Warriors win it because I want to witness what is the undisputed best season by a team of all time.

I'm thinking it'll be Cleveland in 6 in the Cavs - Hawks series. Heat v Raptors or Pacers will be a tough one to call. I kind of want to give the nod to the Heat, though.

  • I am sweating all over. Can't believe the Raptors won. That was so stressful. Hopefully they can play more loosely now that they don't feel as much pressure (hopefully).

I'm definitely going with the Cavs in that series. They're just a better team.

Heat and Raptors is a mystery as to who can take it. I want to say the Raptors, only because I like them better than the Heat. We'll have to see if the shenanigans in the last game of the Pacers/Raptor series made it out of their system.

  • Tbh, those shenanigans happened in all 7 games of the series. Both the Raptors and Pacers played horribly inconsistently. I think if the Raptors did get it out of their system, they have a good shot at winning. But it's really hard to say before game 1.

Well, the Hawks are out. Cavs swept them.

The other match-ups are back-and-forth with who's good. The one I'm worried about is the one between OKC and SA, because I'm a Spurs fan. And I remember how bitter the 2012 Western Conference Finals were for me to watch.

I'm sure you're already bitter with this playoff series, considering how horrendous Game 2 went with the bad ref calls at the end /:
