Man, I dunno what sad-sack stuff those people are on. I can be a pessimist, but not like that. Birthdays celebrate awesome people being in the world for a whole 'nother year! That's pretty much what I wrote on the card I made my friend for his birthday a few weeks ago, too (the part about celebrating his existence <3). Every day I hang out with my friends I celebrate with childlike giddiness. They find it quite amusing X3

Yeah, I've always been more excited about birthdays than any holidays, even if it's not my birthday but one of a close friend or one of my little brothers. It sucks that the older people get, they stop caring about birthdays and eventually some come to dread them as if aging is a bad thing and birthdays only serve to tell you that. It's silly. Why don't more adults continue to celebrate like giddy little children? X3

Yeah, I know they do. Sometimes it's just hard to believe. Part of me expects to be wearing a disdainful "I knew it" face tomorrow, just 'cause I'm not expecting the people from the real world to see it as any different from any other day. But I know that's just how they treat birthdays in general. Not many twenty-somethings cling to that childlike hope for birthday magic like I do. Kind of disappointing, yeah, but not really a big deal. I do hope I get a hug from that one friend, though <3

I've been doing alright, generally. Kind of in a weird slump, though. I'm back in an odd situation with a friend I've been in twice before, with no options this time but to just tough it out. I've also been surprisingly uninterested in art lately. I can't say it's art block, 'cause I have ideas, but I just kinda don't care enough to even scribble out anything. Guess I'll just wait and it'll come back on its own. It always does.

Some good news is that the ugly stuff with my dad has blown over and I've got this nice peaceful month of nothingness, although I'm having trouble bothering to make the most of it. My birthday's also two weeks from today, but I have this nagging, pessimistic feeling that it's gonna be just a terribly ordinary and disappointing day. I will get to see the 3DS' release date, though. I hope it comes out at a time I can afford one. I love my DS Phat, the only DS I've ever had, but I think the 3DS is meant to be my next handheld, since I skipped the Lite and the DSi.

Also, speaking of buying stuff, if things go as planned and I play my cards right, I may have the money for that computer by early next year! That's probably the most exciting thing going on, to be honest, lol.
