Yeah, the only way to have an active thread in the main section is if you draw lots of Pokemon and update often, neither of which I do. I'd rather point people to my dA, but people periodically ask me to make a thread so I guess I mostly do it anyway 'cause of that.
Pixel art I do make (and just recently I put up a thread there), but I don't give a rat's behind about tired things like Pokemon sprites. I don't post in others' threads unless they go outside the box of trite things like Fakemon. 'Scratch' can mean so much more than PC seems to take it to mean. There's infinite possibilities with pixels.
G&P is the other most popular creative section (obviously since it pertains mostly to glitzy and hip forum graphics, and this is of course a forum full of young hip people). I've never fit there, since I really don't care about compositing stock imagery and whatnot. I like typography and studied real graphic design in college for 2 1/2 years before changing majors, but this specific sort of thing isn't for me. Graphics-wise I prefer to do logos and minimalist vector stuff.
