Don't ever do free battle that's not good.
You're Pokemon's level won't get capped so no ones do free battle.
They do LV.50 or LV.100 instead. ^^

Btw level of the Pokemon doesn't really matter in Wi-Fi battle because all Pokemon's level will be raised/lowered to either LV.50 or LV.100 because of level cap(unless you do free battle).
What's important is whether if Pokemon is EV'd or not but you probably know all this already...
