I remember having a pirated Lion King 3 game on the NES, actually. ThePirateBay is my friend when it comes to files such as games, films, and whatnot. :p Same in Bulgaria. Everything costs a lot (anything gaming-related, for example), at least twice as expensive as what it's worth in the US. How do they expect us to pay 600lv for a console that's worth less than $400 there? Americans have plenty of cash to spend, but most of the people in Bulgaria hardly get paid 350lv a month, and 95% of that money goes to paying bills/debt/mortgage.
I'm more of a NES person. I just download ROMs from a site, because most of my games don't work anymore. I originally went on a website to play them (probably the one you're talking about), but that was before I knew what an emulator was, haha.
