I'm trying to work getting better at hands and that takes many references. I'm still honestly failing at getting hands to look good.

Yeah, 54 is...a ton. I didn't think I'd do well with the smaller characters that are children. To be fair, I have very few ocs <16 Only four, and most of them are extremely minor characters.

Well, Siorc's story started at around the time he was...11, but he ages throughout the story into adulthood, but that's a different thing altogether.

I've heard tracing is considered bad. So, I probably won't trace. But, I've heard heavily referencing is also frowned upon. But, I can't imagine things and have them appear in my head, so I have to use references to draw all the time.

If I switch to digital art, I'd use predefined shapes only for the head since I draw a semi circle that's not always perfect.

Also, I finished drawing all my ocs. All 54 (except the oc in laws not allowed in the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) < the parents of the ocs. I have to update my drawings thread once again with over twenty new pieces in less than a week.

Heya! I just wanted to follow up since you expressed interest in the interest check for the Epic Fantasy Ultra-Space Pokemon RP I proposed. I just finished creating the OOC sign-ups for it! Hopefully the final form is just as interesting. ^^

Ah, shadows... something I definitely can't do with physical drawing unless I learn. But, right now, my primary focus is drawing all of my ocs, not so much all those extra details like shadow, and etc.

I'm almost done finishing out my other ocs, I have 8 left of my current 54.
When in doubt, maybe I could use pre made shapes but that's...probably considered "cheating" But I'd probably only do that for the head if I were to and draw the rest...

I can't afford a drawing tablet, though, so for now, it's not up on the list, anyway.

It definitely is harder the lower you go on the body. I probably can't draw breasts, yet, but I suppose I'm not going to anyway since my ocs are all covered up in clothing, anyway. I also can't really draw complicated shoes, so I have to do basic.

Color fill tools are helpful, but sometimes, it'll fill in the entire background if it's too big of an unclosed line, which is what I worry about in the event I do switch to digital someday, but maybe once I can learn to adapt, I won't have to worry about it.

Watching shows or playing games with a lot of scenery could definitely help me learn how to draw that sort of stuff better.

For digital drawing, though, maybe if I had a drawing tablet, I could, but I tend to sometimes forget to close my lines even when I'm drawing on paper, so that'd be a disaster.

Meanwhile, I finally feel like I can draw stomachs with belly buttons even though this looks as anime and pencil thin as it gets, I do think I did okay here. (It's the third photo, just scroll down a bit).

I did a test attempt where I put Siorc near a tree, but I ended up drawing him really tiny, in the end because he was standing on grass. It would be easier if I knew how to draw digitally, but I don't adapt too well to that, honestly.

I also want to learn how to draw scenery. I can draw basic stuff like trees and grass, but I could never draw an entire landscape and be able to fit a character in it.

Maybe I can try, I want to draw Siorc & his cousin in ball gowns, I suppose I could always start by coloring in the background and go from there.

Well, I do use Picrew, and try to draw those, as well as take inspiration from gacha games and anime/manga or the source material I'm attempting to write about. For Siorc, I find it easiest to take a look at girls clothing/feminine men & usually go from there since I don't limit him (since he's my favorite) to the universe I'm currently writing him in.

Some of my ocs are definitely going to be hard to draw outfits for, though, some wear robes. But practice makes perfect.

And I just tend to wear whatever I want whenever I want to, but for my ocs. I want their clothes to at least look nice, aha.

And look somewhat similar to their descriptions in the story. Granted, I don't always describe clothes, don't want to be too excessive like My Immortal was, or anything, LOL. ...Well, the only good thing about My Immortal was the costume porn, but still.

People who can make their own outfits just completely from their own ideas are amazing, though. I assume most outfits start out with drawing them out.

Oh, definitely. Not something I would ever care to do, aha. I did try making a custom outfit, though, but still took inspiration from things I looked up on Google.

For a lot of these, I look to references, so credit where credit's due. But, I do try to modify them and make them my own, despite referencing. The Sanrio one is from Hot Topic, but I wanted to take it in a different direction than the original real life outfit.

I wish I could make my own outfits without referencing, though, aha.

One of them is a Sanrio dress. Although, I draw entirely by hand, not digital, so they're not the best thing out there.

I've reached over 100 hits now, btw, and am currently trying to draw my main oc in girly Halloween outfits because why not? Lol
