  • I've noticed that I'm getting a bit used to linear acceleration, but it's still too imprecise for web browsing. I keep finding myself missing targets. Think gaming mice have a toggle for enabling and disabling acceleration? I've noticed that while disabling it makes a lot of sense for games where the mouse controls the camera (e.g. FPSes), it gets in the way during web browsing or games that rely on pointing.

As for adapters, there doesn't exist HDMI adapters, so I'll have to make do with DVI.

What I'm looking for is Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI or DVI, depending on the monitor's resolution, for monitors with DVI support. Am I right? Do you think there exists third-party alternatives for it? You can plug a Mini DisplayPort cable to a Thunderbolt port, right? So confusing.
Precise, you say? I've noticed that I am not going to get the precision I need at such a high mouse pointer speed with my mice. :P Sometimes, compromises, man. (I should try these Razer mice and see if that changes my opinion. Using a normal mice might skew me towards having acceleration on.)
My university's book store stocks a lot of Razer goodies. (It's also half a tech shop with ultrabooks and tablets for show.)

I find myself needing mouse acceleration, Windows-style, for the precision in pointing. It feels more... natural. Never gotten the way it moved without it on.

I've noticed that the light sensor behaves faster under Windows - and I've also found that the sensor is to the left of the cam.

What do you think of Razer mice?

Mum's thinking of getting me a new monitor because she finds the 11" screen to be small. Wonder what should I get. Probably need to get a Thunderbolt-to-HDMI adapter, too.
I used to use the Apple Magic Mouse, now I'm using a Logitech M310. I think any mice remotely ergonomic is better than the former...
It feels so good to be able to use a proper three-button computer mouse with a physical wheel! No more accidentally scrolling in while trying to open pages in a new tab; no more fatigue trying to hold it without accidental scrolling; no more wrangling in Skyrim!
This is my first Mac. I think it should work anyway. I've converter the disk to use MBR so that Windows Setup can partition it as if the MacBook was a Windows laptop all along.
The Mountain Lion problems also surfaced a month ago and I wiped the entire thing back then. No dice. I'm going Windows only. Egad.
At least the SuperDrive is considered a generic drive.

For some reason I decided to reboot after wiping all partitions. The laptop immediately downloaded the original Lion version of the recovery utilities and offered me to reinstall Lion, not Mountain Lion. Maybe a downgrade is in order?
Software side, perhaps? I wiped the entire thing again. I had to eject the SuperDrive using another Windows laptop.
    Stability.

Besides, DirectWrite is giving OSX a run for its money these days. It strikes a nice balance between OSX native and GDI.

Gah, I hate it when processes mysteriously stop or not respond. *relaunches Finder*
Ahh, that actually explains why some of my australian friends seem to be off school the majority of the year :x

Go you :D This your final year or have you still got more to do? :3
I think I've had enough with OS X.

    *proceeds to wipe it*

I tried to love it, and while it's easy to use... I'd rather have a stable OS. Oh well, might as well as claim 44 GB of extra space.
