I just hatched a shiny Piplup through RNG abuse! :D :D :D I didn't think it would work, but i'm really glad now! I was only able to hatch it with Ice Beam this time, but I hope having Brine wasn't that important? If it is important, I can just use my remaining Brine TM on it. :D Oh my god, you should have seen my reaction when it hatched. I was like "OMGWTFAREYOUSERIOUS DID IT WORK! WOAAAAAAH I THOUGHT I DID IT WRONG!"
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah my god, I should seriously go praise that guy on BMGf (Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden forums) for finding my secret ID. Hallelujah!

So, when can you trade for it? And do you know the best thing? I have a japanese Ditto from HG/SS , so I can definately get you a shiny Torchic too! Here's the shiny Piplup's stuff:

One more thing that I forgot. You can also let it hold the Soothe Bell while it travels with you. It'll grow friendly faster.

I don't think it will really lower the stats it was born in. I think it only lowers EV stats that were gained. A lot of people use them to erase accidental EV's. It'd be safe to ask in the QA thread or on Bulbapedia or something. I think I got it right though. I found a link at Serebii in the Berrydex DP. Check there for specific berries. There's one for each stat.

I think that it only evolves if it levels while at maximum happiness. I think it would have to be at level 2 to evolve. There are berries that raise happiness but lower base stats, but considering that it is at the lowest base stat possible (no ev's) that won't be any trouble. Also the two massage ladies raise them, with the massage lady in Resort Area being the best. That's all I can think of right now.

Yes, the stats do get better when it evolves. After all, Pichu is a baby Pokemon, I don't think that it is meant to be all that strong.
