  • Thematic dreams are relatable. It's always night time in my dreams. I could go into great detail although it might not be that interesting for you. I'll simply mention that nearly every dream involves a bus, school, hospital, entanglement of elevators, or a former home. The dreams are almost always devoid of people. Other times the dream will 'feature' a deceased relative or pet. It's not scary. Usually they appear gleaming and healthy. I'm not sure of the science of dreams, but I wish I could answer for you.

I actually do like American History. It's brief in comparison to other countries and you can learn the entire story pretty easily. Ancient History is neat, albeit can be brutal depending on what eras you study. And that's fair. As children we come up with all sorts of silly scenarios. I viewed Stephen King's "IT" as a 4 year old, and thought the clown would come after me everywhere.

At first I had genuine excitement over Discord. Soon found myself fretting over if I was texting at inappropriate times or if I was becoming an annoyance. Not good at dealing with these thoughts and have never been.

But for a lighter topic, I wish I was good at video games. I spent the last two hours playing a stealth game and got absolutely nowhere, wandering the same level aimlessly. My older brother texted me a long 3 paragraphs of advice. I did not fare much better.
I haven't experienced motion sickness since childhood. Normally I couldn't handle long bus rides and would need to be driven to school. It went away as I got older. For some reason I have a reoccurring dream of the school bus dropping me my old house, only to find it's eerily empty. Had it again last night. My dreams repeat, and repeat, and repeat. I don't particularly like this dream. It's creepy.

Oh sorry, XI not IX. I haven't played 9. XI would be my favorite game in the series. unsure about all time favorites. I like strong story driven games with abnormal amounts of cutscenes. It's like a movie but being a part of it.

History was my major at first, but I dropped it due to lack of opportunities involved. Do you have a favorite era of history?

It's okay. And I apologize for how discord turned out. I'm trying to practice but making friends with severe anxiety, even online, is very difficult. My usual problem is that I will act in those moments of anxiety and do erratic things, such as unfriending or talking in excess.

Pokecommunity is good practice. The pace of Visitor Messages lets me walk away or log out whenever that feeling happens. Not that I've been totally perfect on here (like i've removed people at random). I tried setting Discord on Do Not Disturb, but the notifications kept coming and it turned into a disaster.
I'm the total opposite, because I don't like how crowded and stuffy everything gets around 12:00 pm. I always try to make my first class around 7:30 AM. The morning atmosphere is super nice too. I like the bus commute however the cigarette smell can be strong. There are some roads I can bike on, although live too far away from things for me to navigate with it. Also my stamina isn't particularly strong, and since it's a long stretch of road into town there wouldn't be much place for rest.

My issue with ACNH is that when you create an idea it's difficult to go back on it. There is no 'undo' button so it means taking everything apart and restarting. I liked XI the most. I've purchased it 4 times. Once for PlayStation, again for switch, then as a gift for a sibling, and again as a gift for a cousin. Best wishes for the finals. At least when it's over it'll feel like a weight has been lifted.

I had fun on the trip. We saw various museums and a zoo. Personally wasn't happy with the zoo because it looked like the animals weren't in ideal conditions. Zoos are great for conservation efforts - however it's clear when the zoo is in the best interest of the animals. Many are not. They will do the complete minimum for the animals and make profit from the displays. Anyways it was a nice trip. I did briefly get sick but it was only for a single night. At the time of writing this I just returned home from a 4 hour car ride. I should be tired but for some reason i'm bristling with energy.
I fall asleep easily too, but I don't necessarily think it's due to being tired. Boredom will knock me right into sleep. I also take every morning class when possible, so often it's not uncommon for me to feel fatigue when I commute home at 2 in the afternoon. That said, I find couches, chairs, bus seats, easier to sleep on than beds. I don't like fully laying down when I sleep. During the pandemic I self taught myself how to ride a bike. When first starting I fell off about 30 times, but I learned and take it around fairly often.

Honestly this conversation makes me want to pick up animal crossing again. I haven't touched my town for a while. Ran out of ideas. I named my town Nautica because I love the Dragon Quest franchise. It hit 5 stars but I never even fully payed my house. And best of luck with the school work. I remember you mentioning finals recently, so I hope it went well.

I think it sounds like what you do is quite amazing. I'm still a lost soul - which is okay. Stuff will work out. I got my driving appointment booked for May 10th. Finally got service on my phone again too. Previously could only use it at home.

Will be traveling around this weekend. Take care and have a nice one.
I did have a stint of drinking coffee. In my freshman year of highschool, I thought it would keep me awake - so I put up with the awful taste. It didn't do much of anything. I was still sleepy. Oh I totally understand. My stomach doesn't like too much acidic, but I can't pass up lemonade. I'll order one at a restaurant and switch to water.

It was okay after that first month. I was constantly switching working positions and hotel locations. I would spend a while at front desk, switch elsewhere, and work housekeeping. School provided the bus transport. Laundry work was the easiest, housekeeping was the toughest. Especially having to constantly move the giant cleaning cart into the elevators. Special Olympics was fantastic. They would have a field of games, and you walk your client to each game and help them win metals. It was a mesh of all sorts of different schools, so I would request my special needs younger cousin as my client. I have a soft spot for those with disabilities, and often found myself feeling quite euphoric when it was over.

Favorite Villager would be Jerimiah. On the new animal crossing, you can scan cards to get villagers you want. My sister purchased me his card. Did you have a nice Easter? Talking during chess isn't the best idea, but we spent a bunch of time going over different strategies. (Like 4 move checkmate counters). We spent 12 years apart and I did not know him during my childhood, however we get along very well.

Trying not to be too long winded, but honestly I feel 100x more comfortable now off the app. I'll try again at some point, maybe just the desktop version. I really hope your training goes okay. Let me know if you wish.

congrats you legend! and best of luck for the adventure ahead ♥
really interesting how you've been having fun with and an old game like maplestory, some of my friends in elementary school enjoyed it but I never got into it. lately I've been flash/shockwave games from my childhood, using Flashpoint. I wonder if you ever spent a lot of time playing those old flash games back in the day? sites like miniclip, andkon arcade and cartoon network were huge among people I knew. anyways it's nice to hear that enough of the old maplestory exists that you're able to experience that nostalgia, so many games change so drastically that they become unrecognizable and the old experiences that they used to give kind of just vanish forever

I haven't really reconnected with people from that forum I mentioned, I was never all that close to them to begin with - even though I have lots of memories in that place. I'm not sure that the search will ever stop, but I don't find it demoralizing. since my last message I've found one of the most incredible sites ever, "laika's lonely planet" (https://voyager.neocities.org/ click the text in the grey box to continue into the main site). I've been stunned by how beautiful the style is for a while now, and it's been a great reminder that there are all kinds of people just drifting out there in the vastness of the internet (https://voyager.neocities.org/sputnik/). The diary entries have also been lots of fun to read through, I love that these personal websites always have such an introspective quality to them, in addition to their striking visual designs. you never ever see that personal touch in any major website that we usually see

It's bizzare, but I can't reach the pigeon film database either. When I sent my message it was still up, but in the time between my message and your response it seemed to have gone offline. Well, there is plenty of stuff on the internet to explore anyways. If you're interested in looking around yourself, a great starting point could be some of the curated collections https://peelopaalu.neocities.org/index.html and https://websitereview.neocities.org/. personal websites on neocities in general will usually have a page for links, to other neocities cites and other curious websites in general. "laika's lonely planet" has a page on links that does this https://voyager.neocities.org/spaceship/. there are a ton of random communities out there that are still active, it's really cool.
I've been building my own website, not sure if i'll have it hosted on neocities or github or wordpress, it's a great way to showcase your work to potential employers. dunno how relevant it is to a career in law but maybe something worth looking into for you.

zines are self published magazines that are circulated in various underground/low-profile communities. they always end up with a lot of personality, particular to whatever community is making them. check out lainchan's zine (vol3: https://lainzine.org/all-releases/lainzine03.pdf vol4: https://lainzine.org/all-releases/lainzine04.pdf) they're an imageboard centered on the lain anime. the zine really gives a way for a small collection of people to express their creativity, it's so neat.
    Hi Sophie,

I ran out of ideas on stuff to write about and stopped responding, but I hadn't forgotten this exchange. Lately I've been searching the internet, trying to find like-minded people/communities/friends who I feel I can connect with and understand.
I don't want to elaborate on what I'm looking for, it's personal - I don't think I've found any such communities yet, but I have found all manner of wacky internet stuff that I did want to write about. hopefully you don't some of the more spammy entries here

One of the earliest communities I thought was neat was gaia online (https://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/general-discussion/f.2/), a message board apparently stuck in 2011 - the design, the autoplay youtube videos on people's profiles, random spammy posts everywhere - idk how active you were on the internet in those years but this does capture the spirit of it all very well.
In general I've found lots of random forums but none seem to stand out particularly. I'm keeping my eye on one, and only because of nostalgia - I posted on sethforum back in the day, it was brimming with drama and I loved it (http://www.sethforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2406). It's dead now, if I ever find a group of friends, maybe we'll try and revive it, and build our own little home on the internet

On the topic of stuck in 2011, yale university's art school has one of the dated websites I've ever seen, and I can't tell if it's avant-garde or they're just really lazy. both, perhaps (https://www.art.yale.edu/)

A bizarre but fun, entertaining piece of media has got to be windows "really good" edition (https://www.jamesweb.co.uk/windowsrg), a parody of windows complete with a poorly drawn clippy. In somewhat similar vein, someone created a virtual machine which runs a windows-styled OS in your browser (https://www.windows93.net/)
