My implementation was supposed to set the 'effectbyte' to its appropriate value again by rerunning the battle script again for the second strike. I don't remember whether the effect was working for the second turn or not, but it was intended. You can try re-inserting my routines on a Vanilla Fire Red Rom again, then if, the secondary effect doesn't activate on the moves, feel free to post your fixes on the main thread yourself, since now I'm hacking primarily with C and won't be contributing to the Move and Ability resource threads.
