I'm mostly doing data entry and organization for a student's PHD project w/ a professor. It combines history and linguistics to show cultural changes over time. Honestly, I'm glad I'm not the PHD student- the concepts and hard thinking required are way over my head... I'm just a dirty undergrad lol. But I understand enough to do my job competently, and I'm legitimately interested in the project and glad I can be part of the team.

I've been pretty good. Really, really busy though with school / applying for summer internships / doing other career stuff like meeting with recruiters. And now I'm even busier because I got a job as a research assistant. My first day was yesterday and a side benefit of the job is I can pretend to be a grad student and get free pizza if they have it in the department office lol.

haha yes you know what I meant! Clearly not as down with the phd lingo as I've never done one! Good to hear you've got friends - what is cape town like? I always heard it was less dangerous than Jo'burg but I would imagine still not as safe as Syd.

We will go to America for 2 weeks as a friend just relocated to Memphis and then back to Australia - permanently is the plan at the moment. Will see how things go!
