Yah, we need more fics like that in the fandom, go for it. Most of the Pokemon-POV fics I see go too much into anthropomorphizing them, to the point where you forget that they're animal equivalents. I've only read a couple that portray the animalistic view of Pokemon...

I finally got my laptop back after being grounded...so I can actually write again, thank Mew. I can't believe I've put off the Fuega chapter for so long...the good news is that two pages are done, and the words are coming more easily now. Things are looking up, fanfiction-wise.

Oh, and I've replaced my blood with Phoenix Wright. Or Edgeworth, more accurately. Magenta suits and neck frills are amazing. :3

Maybe the Pokemon runs away when it's mother dies, the trainer finds it, takes it home(to his or Pokemon's) and cares for it. Both scenarios would need the Pokemon to seem to take a liking to him.

It would have more "closure" if the Trainer tried to find the Pokemon's owner and the owner tells him that since the Pokemon has warmed up to him and since the Pokemon keeps running away from the owner, the kind owner lets the Pokemon go, so it can be happy with it's new trainer.

From the parents is the best option, now where they get the Pokemon is also an issue. Did a Professor from their region or another region send it to them because they asked for one. Did they catch it a long time ago or recently?

Not meaning to discourage ya, just trying to help :P ^^

I think presenting the Pokemon as a Christmas gift would make sense if it was from a Parent, but not the Professor, unless the Professor was quite close to the person the Pokemon is being given. If not, it would probably be overrated.

I am going to try and write a story too. It will probably be a one-shot to test my ability, then possibly grow to a continuing fic (1 or 2). Would you be willing to read/proofread them IF I manage to write them? :P
