  • Just finished playing the rom and its one of the best roms i have ever seen, easily one of my top favorites ever.
I'll probably play this all over again it was so good.
The story was gripping, script was excellent, the OCs were amazing; the custom sprites and music were truly amazing too, so praises to everyone involved in this rom.
The only problem i had with the rom was the outfit upgrades back spites were buggy, but was playing on mGBA and read in an earlier post that visualboyadvance is best for using it.
Would love to see any updates to the story/postgame
    Spoiler:
Just signed in to tell you what an amazing rom hack you have created! I just pulled an all-nighter and finished Rocket edition in a single sitting cause it had me hooked so hard. This stuff is so good, especially the story is top tier. thank you so much for making this! <3
Hello i registered an account just to say that i really enjoyed pokemon team rocket Edition, after a few years of not playing pokemon roms I decided to give pokemon team rocket Edition a go as I happend to saw the forum thread for it. It took me awhile to figure out how to play the rom as I'm not familiar with .Ips files but after awhile i finally got it working and immidietly got hooked into this game. I dint even realise i had been playing for hours just because of how well put together this romhack is, I love how you're given a new perspective of fire red through the eyes of a team rocket member to see what happends behind the scene when the protagonist (Red) is off camera, it's like your a puppeteer and every action you make in game will affect Red later on an example of this is how you will deliver Bill a package from team rocket to bribe him into joining team rocket and included in the package was an s.s Anne ticket which Bill deemed uneccessary but keeps it anyway. With this information we can conclude that this is how Bill managed to give the protagonist an s.s Anne ticket in the base game now ofc this is just speculation but i just love how the romhack fills up little backstory like that it almost makes you feel like this romhack is Canon but it isn't unfortunately it also tries to explains why Red is so OP or why he barely speaks at all or how he managed to beat up an orangized gang in such a short time. I also think the ending is a pretty good touch seeing as you are not a good person while playing this game and perhaps you deserve it but i won't ramble on anymore instead if you are curious and are reading this and you haven't try the romhack yet I suggest you downloading it seeing as the completed edition is finally out! That's all thanks man for making this romhack im really looking forward for more of this types of romhack ;) also sorry if my sentences sounds off or weird English is not my first language and took me awhile to figured this all out thanks man wish you the best:))
Hey there just finished Pokemon Rocket Edition,i've been watching this community for years and played essentialy every finished hack there is atm,and i have to say i never adressed a hack creator hell i just registered an account here just to tell you that the story you created here in my opinion is by far the best out of all the hacks i have played, you really have a knick for this and you should make more hacks ,im rooting for a sequel of rocket edition and would like to know if you have it in plan. Now since i like fully completing the games i was wondering what the post game has to offer,i have completed the gyms and caught mewtwo, wondering if there is something more to do.Thanks in advance!
Hey can anyone help me out here? I beat pokemon team rocket edition and got to the post game, and I'm collecting all the badges. However, I cant find Blaine. He's not in the gym nor the mansion. Any idea where he is?
I intended to reduce it to 4 to save some space, but never got around to actually implementing it (or it didn't work, I can't remember lol). So it still uses all 5 frames.
I'm glad to hear it's working now! The only large free ram chunks I know of in FR is 0x1000 bytes at 203E000 and then the saveblock expansion ram. The former might be part of the help system too so is unsafe unless you remove that feature.
I was able to get the shop working on my end (and have pushed the changes). It didn't like me trying to expand the ram for some reason, so only the first 16 event objects will be copied over in the shop window, but I'd be surprised if you could even squeeze that many npcs in such a small area lol
Alright, I'll have to spend a bit more time on that part. I'll let you know when I've fixed it! Glad the save bug is fixed at least haha
I would guess the extra event object data being stored in saveblock1 is not actually unused as I originally thought, which is screwing up some of the data being loaded. I'll have to probably just move that data to the expanded saveblock ram.

It turns out the shop backs up the event object data so I will have to repoint and expand that ram as well. I'm not entirely sure what might be causing the weird graphical issue, though :/

I've updated the repo if you want to test it out on a vanilla rom.
Wow, that is a knowledge dump! Really appreciate you sharing your findings.

As I said earlier, I'm not sure that the subroutine I listed was what you needed to jump straight to. At this point I've just about forgotten everything I did through the disassembly to get the desired effect. I'm really sorry about that...

Doesn't mean I can't look back at it with fresh eyes at some point, though. At least I know that I was able to figure it out before.
Oh wow, I completely forgot to get back to you on this. Sorry!

The immediate subroutine for it is 806F924. That might not be the one you need to jump to in order to actually trigger saving. I don't think I wrote down what exact subroutine change I made, so I'm just making an educated guess in the area again. I'll spend some more time on it, as well as the actual change I made, to find out what's actually going on.

I know, that sounds like a pretty awful answer from the person who provided the change. All I can say is that it's been awhile since I actually did that and that my very meager ASM knowledge is rusty. :P
Glad you like it! I wasn't sure how buggy it would be outside of initial testing, but I'm glad to hear it is functioning as expected. I'm not sure why the make scripts is inserting so much data, all it does is replace a bunch of limiters and rewrite two functions. You should be fine to overwrite all the extra space, just make a backup just in case.
You're welcome! I got a bit giddy figuring out how to do that myself. I'm not really experienced in ASM, so I actually surprised myself there.

I feel like I jotted that information down somewhere, but I don't remember where it was exactly. I might have to pull out the huge disassembly for FireRed and search through it again. Maybe I can get back to you on this tomorrow?
