The best way to get help is to make your hack look like it's worth helping out. Don't feel like holding back information and saying "I don't want to spoil the whole story" is going to attract anyone. For my hack, I made a thread in the Scrapbox forum (Here) describing all the thoughts I had for the game, and then at the bottom said that help would be appreciated. Now I've got the starts of a team.

You can't just go around looking for help. Why should someone want to help you make your hack? Just because you asked them to? Make a thread, show every idea you've got for your hack, show what you've put into it already. Often, if you just include a note at the bottom saying that you don't have a team yet, others might volunteer to help out--that's what happened with my hack.

If you really don't want to leave it up to chance, though, you want to head to the Team Discussions forum and, in particular, the Help recruitment thread. That's what it's there for, after all.

Hey, good luck with your hack. I heard about it in the quick storyline idea thread and it sounds interesting. I'm busy with my own hack right now, otherwise I might've helped out. I could probably do some sprites though if you need them; my specialty is trainer sprites, though. I've never tried to make Fakemon before. (But it looks like you've got some neat ones already in your album, so I guess you do your own spriting.)

Just so you know, you'll get more support if you don't go around saying "I need help," because every noob hacker does that and 95 percent of the time they go around looking for help and then get bored and drop the project. If a hacker doesn't have the patience to learn the tools and gain the skills to make the hack himself, why would he even have the patience to manage a hacking project all the way to the end? But if you do just want to manage the project and not do the mapping/scripting/spriting yourself (which I'd recommend against, but still...) then you'll have to really sell the idea. If people think you've got a great idea for a hack, they might volunteer to help out if they think you've got a good idea and would like to see it come to fruition.

Anyway, good luck again. It sounds like you've got a good idea and I hope you can see it through to the end!

No problem. I'd try to learn some stuff though, instead of asking everyone for help. It's just good to know. Like when my scripter decides he's just plain not going to do anything, I can produce scripts without a problem.

Ehh...It's more stable, better graphics, etc.
My hack is of firered, and I often help people with ruby bases, and I just can't believe they used that. The only good thing about ruby is that there's a tool that makes a day/night system like in Gold/Silver. So it's really a choice between better graphics and a better hack (that's just my opinion though) or a day/night system. It's up to you.

I don't know if I can help you out a whole lot with ruby.

Not willingly. Most people won't help new people because they're dicks. But if you want to send me an ips right now, I can probably do a map before a I have to leave.

Possibly. But just because your username has 'Cooper' in it and it reminds me of Alice Cooper. I've got a hack of my own, as you may know, so I can't help you a whole hell of a lot. I can do like a map or two if you want though. That's about all I'd do, as that's the only part of hacking that I find 'fun'. What's your hack called?
