download free space finder too u will need it for unlz-gba and almost everythign else.

just keep in mind that if u index an tile in irfanview it wont load in charakter maker.
just copy paste that indexed tile in another png and try again

irfan view is almost just for imges.
like a .png it's usefull . alsmot everyone have it.

well for mapping and inserting u need:
1.a-map 1.92 or 1.95
2.charaktermaker 1999(just google this name)
3.irfan view (it's helps a lot in indexing the tiles)

as for graphic hacking u need:
1.unlz-gba (in this tool u find every graphic in a rom
2.APE to hack the pallets.
3.NSE or overworld editor rebirth edition(for hacking thw overworlds)
4.NTME(it's to create tilemaps like for the 256 olour title screen
well those tools there are still a few more but i dont remember atm all of them as for how to learn here at PC at the tutorial section are a lot of tutorials regarding mapping or tileisnerting or those graphic hacking take a look there u find almost everything u need there.
as for tools u can take a look at the tool box there are almsot all tools too.

well after u are a mapper and u can sprite as u say why don't u learn first inserting tiles and mapping to get better in both and than maybe leanr to graphic hack too.
and if u got pretty good maybe not a pro in those start getting ur scripting better czo scripting is very important if u don't know how to script.

Your maps are moderately styled, but the tiles are amazing. If I were to rate them, most would be 6-9/10
Don't listen to people on that thread, they think natural is the best, but all styles are good :3
