Oddly, I see no change in your background or profile at all. Did you make sure your background color doesn't overpower the background image? (if applicable?)

Or are you talking about alkaide? That profile was good.

Heh. I had to tweak with the colors a bit, I was intending to do so before the contest anyways. x3

That and this shade of blue that I picked for the BG color is just amazing when combined with the fractal I have now. <3

Well honestly, if I omit them from the Primary Content Areas, I break the continuity of the profile. The point is that it's supposed to be covered in fractal art of some sort. XD

That and I think it looks ugly with just a plain background color. x3

Primary Content areas are a LARGE part of the profile, and are thus the most seen thing.

I switched to lighter colors on the monochromatic scale for the prevalent color. I'm still searching a bit for usable brushes, but I may use something different for the background itself to lend a bit of variety to the profile itself.

By the way, what do you think of the current revision of my profile?

Like this. It's hard to read white on this gray. Maybe you should subtract #AAAAAA from your hex value at least.

Although you should note there are two images, a white fractal set and a black one. I could add additional images, make the background larger so it doesn't need to tile as much and a bit more, but I don't really have much in the way of larger fractal patterns to use, so it'd seem repetitive anyways.

Of course I've been trying to work out the Supporter Username visibility problem for a while but I can't seem to find a proper color that'd stay within the parameters of the color scheme I'm trying to stay with.

Now i could create a less dense sort of background for the primary/secondary content areas, that might actually make text easier to read, but at the same time, I don't want to use a solid background color...because you simply can't do transparency without using an image.

....I'd say the same about your profile and it's text color choice, at least for the controls...the white on light colors makes it hard to proofread. XD

But seriously, that was a comprehensively constructive criticism, at which I don't ever get upset at. :3

If all of that was what you originally intended to say before my long spiel about saying it nicely then you were probably overworrying. It is true, I can be a bit rigid when I don't know or trust a person very much. It's sort of a defense against people who aren't really trying to be nice in the first place. x3
