Can't wait for the 3.0 version. Gonna use that for a hack once it's out. If I may make a suggestion, however, have you folks considered importing the RSE tileset into the ROM? Having them alongside the FRLG tiles would be nice, if it wouldn't be a huge hassle.
My point is that it would make for a good base, regardless of intent, and that I personally feel that you do need a lot of Gen IV moves to really make the Physical/Special split feel validated, on account of so many moves that were made physcial being given new, special counterparts, and vice versa.
I cannot for the life of me understand any of the hex manipulation involved in this. Is there really no tool out there that can do this? I have a .DS_Store file and a bunch of .BS files for Gen IV moves and I want to use those to add said moves to Emerald, but this is just too confusing for me...
This would be the perfect base for me if it only had Gen IV moves in it. The Physical/Special split feels incomplete to me without moves like Giga Impact added in.
I'm having trouble choosing between Sigma Emerald and Emerald 650. I would go with the former if there were a patch for Emerald that only adds Gen IV moves.
