I just lead with my "weakest" 'mons, whatever they happen to be heading into the battle.

Slaking... I had to go through 3 of those things and a Spinda to beat Norman in my first re-battle with him. It was a double battle and he had his Spinda use Skill Swap on one of his Slaking so that the Slaking could attack EVERY TURN. Good thing I was 12 levels ahead of all of them. Took them all out with my leading two Pokemon, which I think were Swellow and Azumarrill, but it could have been Swellow and Ninetales.

Yeah I did, actually. Though Juan was harder than any of those guys, since his Kingdra knew REST and at the time none of my 'mons could 1HKO it, and the only one that could 2HKO it was very vulnerable to the Ice Beam it knew.

Sounds like you'll need to start saving soon before you get stranded in a snowstorm in it.

The only team I've recently handled was my Emerald one, which just beat the E4 with constant shuffling around to heal against Juan since the entire team only had 1 move that was super effective against water types (Mega Drain on Breloom).

It's quite fun for me. I've been playing it for almost 5 years. Only 2 league championships (as in, the whole league, but I've won several division championships working my way up from less important leagues), but I'm proud of my teams, as I'm competitive every season. The best part is the opposing teams are run by real people you can have banter with.
