    I don't think most people just let Ash using hax just slide. I mean, most people are really annoyed when he gets to use hax, just like when other characters use hax. It's one of the most annoying things and indicative of kind of lazy writing.

    That'd be interesting. But honestly that's almost like how BW was with the "rivals". 5 out of 6 of Ash's tournament rivals were more friends than anything (Bianca, Stephan, Cameron, Luke, & Virgil were friends, Trip wasn't really) and Georgia and Burgundy got along with the group as well, amazingly enough. It really felt like the whole cast was in it together. I'd love to see that kind of camaraderie back in XY, only hopefully it would be better written.

    It's not impossible, no, but winning a whole tournament with one recently obtained, first-stage Pokémon looks a lot more like hax than if it was second-stage or if it was a multi-Pokémon battle. See, I could see him getting through some tough opponents with a three-Pokémon team that includes Goomy, and having Goomy come through for him in a tight spot. I could also see Goomy and another of his Pokémon working together in a double-battle scenario to take out opponents with strategy. I just think winning with just Goomy would be a little over-the-top.
    The way you're presenting it, Ash would have just got Goomy and then suddenly went on to win an entire tournament filled with powerhouses. But the thing is, Ash wouldn't have had enough time to learn Goomy's personal strenghths/weaknesses/abilities- he wouldn't know how to use it to its full potential yet. Ash's wins come from being in synch with his Pokémon and utilizing their abilities to the max.

    I dunno, if the tournament has both second and third stage 'mon then I think it would make Ash seem less needlessly OP when he wins with a first-stage. He can certainly get a tactical advantage there, but I think going against all third stage power 'mon and winning would be pretty crazy and not in a good way.

    I think you need to calm down with your shouting in general, but you're not being offensive to members.

    Honestly if Ash won that he would be the one using hax. If that were the case I would like the abusive trainer to be recurring and Goomy to be trained by Ash for a few episodes at least and maybe even evolve into Sliggoo before the proposed tournament. That at least brings its power level up to a comparable level and its synchronization with Ash would be better. Much as I like Ash and would like him to win some more cool tournaments and not be taken out by nubs, that would be stretching it way far.

    Joined a non-tournament event would probably have been... the Wishing Bell Festival, I guess. idk you could say they hung out at Cynthia's for like two months for fun. Or sailed the Decolore Archipelago for fun (because we all know there are flights between Kanto and Unova).

    That of course might be the reason but... the point is... Pokemon anime is not directed by SHAFT to be experimented on =) (Okay... I just put together something more surreal than K-On by SHAFT...).
    Since anime still works well in advertising the games, there's no reason to change anything or experiment =)

    And what you are trying is pretty much forcefully put all character stereotypes into Pokemon anime.
    Anime with all the stereotypes won't be good.

    I think you are missing the point of originality... (yea, Poke anime does not have that much of that but... let's put this aside). Just copying other characters won't work well.
