Just to clarify, the light type would be the polar opposite of the dark type. Dark type Pokemon are associated with darkness and evil so light type Pokemon would be associated with purity and holiness.

Enter the cave to the left of the park entrance and go through it. You will wind up in Hayward. Enter the houser right there and use strength on the boulder inside. The item ball contains the Mist Stone.

Once you get the Mist Stone you can enter that cave to the right of the park entrance and the 8th gym is down there.
