Any language can be used to some extent... just do research on what the most commonly used ones are.

Long term, something prestigious gets you into Google.

So many places offer degrees that have something to do with technology. The generally well known ones are the BS degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Management of Information Systems. IT and IS are the two departments that get assigned pretty much everything technology related.
