Oh. Well, a programming language is basically how programs are written. It's kind of like how fictional sorcerers made their spells. They'd combine specific words and symbols and something useful would come out (sometimes something dangerous if they didn't know what they were doing or if they had evil intentions).

A simple example might be if you want a program that displays the numbers from one to ten. The code might look something like this.

from 1 to 1000 stored in loopNum:
print loopNum;

This would loop a thousand times, storing which loop number it is on in the variable called loopNum, and printing that variable each time it looped. This would have the effect of printing the numbers from 1 to 1000. Programs are written using language like this.
