  • Yeah, I've seen it before, and it looks incredible if done well.

Makes sense. At least you used them.
I can't imagine going fully lineless, haha. That seems really difficult.

Nice! Well, not using out your markers, but getting the new art supplies.
Yeah, it takes time. I hate drawing clothes, really. It's so difficult to get the folds right.
Interesting. I think the main problem with the cloak is how it starts to wrap under towards the bottom, like someone stitched it that way. It gives the impression that it's a shirt more than a cloak. I don't think it should go past vertical, and a few wrinkles and folds wouldn't hurt since clothes like to move.

It's the lack of details in the eyes. They're just kind of there. Other than that though, it's a nice drawing!
    Haha

I like the head, but the body is a little weird to me. I think the proportions are a bit too big. I'm also not sure where the arms are. You're definitely improving, and the coloring is getting smoother, but the body and maybe with the eyes as well. The eyes don't seem very expressive, which you definitely want since the eyes are the window to the soul. The shading is getting better, and the head looks pretty good! I can tell you're getting more confident too, which helps a lot.
Oh geez, I get how that would be scary. At least it was at home rather than in a hospital.

    Gah, the hassles of life.
I kinda got it through unusual circumstances. Technically, I haven't graduated yet, but I'm finished with my Master's program. But the job started the Monday after the spring graduation day anyways.

It's fun to get working again on old projects! But yeah, real life takes priority of course. I'm sorry to hear about your grandma. I know how it feels to lose a grandparent. I hope she went peacefully. Sounds like it really stirred things up for your family, though I'm sure you can get through this turbulence. :)
A lot of history behind it all, that's for sure. Now I can go forth and conquer with my new found knowledge, haha.
Good to hear things have been good, both in real life an online! ^-^ I've been pretty busy too; I have my Master's degree now and I'm working as research faculty at my school for now.
Interesting, I wonder if it was ever around before those cartoons rose to popularity.
Yo! Has it really been that long? When was the last time I was on? Sylveon told me to come back, haha! :P I feel so bad for not logging in. >_< Things are going pretty well for me, I guess. How about you?
I think the real trouble comes with the fact that we see people's heads every day, so if something is off it stands out immediately. Whereas furry characters don't exist in real life, so as long as everything is proportionate it looks great.
Do it! That's a gold mine of information right there. And it would be a great way to remember him by.
Hmm... that's tricky. It could just be your style to not do things like that, but I would keep trying.
Ah, makes sense. I would find a picture that showcases what you're struggling with and try to copy it. It might not be an original work, but you'd be getting the practice in, and if it looks half decent, you'll know that you can do it.
Sounds like good practice! Just try a few different things and see what looks the best to you. What's so difficult about the forest setting?
I've done a drawing or two since we've last talked as well, but I think you've made much more of an improvement than I have. Your shading is really well done, and I really like the lighter points you added on the horns/crest/whatever, haha.
Okay, but if it makes you feel any better, I can tell you've improved a lot just from that.
Oh hey! Of course I remember, haha. Judging by your avatar, you've been working on drawing.
