Yes, the Orange Islands arc+Johto are the hardest ones, Hoenn and Sinnoh are more softer. Oh yes I can feel your pain, it's a headache the johto arc.

You should , it's awesome. It's curious i just finished to watching the tv series too, several years ago I dropped it in the johto saga (the land of the fillers)
