if you trade and english pokemon to a jp game, and evolve it, the name becomes japanese, but the pokemon still is identified as english as to where it was caught.
so if i traded a pokemon from my uk to a jp game, evolved it, and got a japanese name, and traded it back, this wouldn't work:

since they are still the same region (if i am breeding it with a uk pokemon)
in short the name only changes, not it's roots.
