  • Yep, I've played Birth by Sleep, Re:coded, and 358/2 Days. I played a little bit of KH2, but I think I should play the first before going on to the second.

Haha that's a really long time. And yeah, I know what you mean, I just got back on PC some weeks ago and it's hard to stay active.
Haha I'm super into Kingdom Hearts right now. The games got me sucked in and I love it.
So you returned from a super-long absence?
I don't think it's so much that other people likes the phoning in approach, but just that to others there's way more subjects than just chemistry that they have zero interest in and only wants it to pass :x

Do remember that university isn't so much like school that they are institutes that focus on research and got forced by the government to pass on blocks of knowledge to other people. Even when you go to Japan, it's pretty much a toss up of a coin on part of the prof if the prof will do "relevant things" or if it's those evil freaks who briefly teach stuff then test stuff that's soooo out there... and if stuff that's being taught will even be relevant or practical (especially for a language.)

So it's more like going to Japan on student visa and not so much 'moving there' then? Pricy stuff =( but if you have someone who can take care of you on day to day stuff within campus and share the costs on some stuff, it'll certainly be handy. It's rare enough there's another person who wants to go to the same country for the same program on student visa, so I will say that now isn't a good time to be picky on who to go with if you are seriously going.

Guess you are trying to go next April then? If I remember correctly, a japanese term begins with April or so? Besides your rigorous degree completion and school, what else is up lately?

*typing this using free computer/internet at HK airport while waiting for plane back to Canada!*
As of late... nothing on my end... XD
I mean I work and all, but as far as college goes I took time off after I finished high school and haven't gotten around to college yet. My brother finishes high school this year and I guess we'll take something to add on to the business.
To answer the question in your intro thread (I don't want to make the Mod feel bad because there's a rule on posting more then once unless you're the thread starter).
"Oh yeah. Why did he lose his old account, again?"
Kwesi was fed up with something to do with the Staff (I can't remember exactly what it was) and so he deleted his account.

    Anyway... how have you been?
Your definition of "phone in" is like what every other students do already. And if you are going with a friend, you really have to go treating her as a really good friend or "someone who can share the cost of rent in Japan" and not as a mentor in Japanese. It's because how your definition of "phone in" is as good as others (including me XD for most part) full all-out effort already.

I think that you underestimate value of answering questions. You actually learn *way faster* when you explain something in comparison to being pointed out about something. It forces you to really sort things out and when you try to think of a way to explain something, you are explaining and reinforcing the stuff in your head too. Strange people ask anyone/you for help though... for me university classes has always been rush in, sit, copy, rush out, and not a single word to classmates for any reason unless you know them beforehand.

Hope you are going as a student and officially enrolled in something if you are learning Japanese there though. Just living there and expect the language to roll in within a nation that's highly resistant to foreigners just ain't going to work.
Erm, some accurate study of how nuclear radioactivity works please? :3 that stuff isn't just going to go poof in 1 year. But also, depends on what you do there and if you are going there knowing people, as that's the group of people you're sticking with. Japanese not the most welcoming in reality for people of other ethnicity~

Ishihara going insane in Tokyo isn't helping either if you're going there for wapanese-ness (he's the governor of Tokyo.)
