  • I know you must be sick and tired of getting questions like this, but are there any plans for a second tourny? I missed the first one, but I would love to join a second one if there is going to be one. Seeing as the final of the first one has passed, I figured this would be an ok time to ask.
GG. Admittedly, using that team might have been a bad idea since you helped me build it and all but I was obviously outplayed, regardless. Also, if you don't mind saying, what moveset were you running on Tangrowth?
I'm trying to break old habits, such as ignoring team preview, etc. I usually have trouble keeping Blissey from getting pursuit trapped. Thanks for all the help and advice, hopefully it will help me do decently on the ladder.
I know Rotom-W is anti rain, but Blissey and Gliscor can collectively beat/wall most Rain Abusers, although Rotom does provide another line of defense if one of them falls, although Latias is adept at absorbing Hydro Pumps and Thunders as well. I might refrain from using Quagsire, since that will make my team essentially the same as user Schweinsteiger [the guy who I got the idea to use Quagsire from] and it really wouldn't be right to ladder using a team that's nearly identical to someone else's. I'm pretty sure that I have Landorus handled, as Quagsire can stop the ones that set up [as can Gliscor, with proper prediction] and Latias can revenge kill when Landy is at +0 speed; the scarf ones are pretty easy to beat, considering they make themselves susceptible to my Blissey if they choose to use Hidden Power Ice. About Forry, I normally wouldn't use it to stop Volcarona, I'm only talking about a situation in which Blissey has taken a good chunk of its health and has been taken out by Volcarona, I can then switch in Forry [if I have nothing better to stop it with] who can use Sturdy to take a hit, and then retaliate back, I normally wouldn't use it to switch in on and beat Volcarona. Also, what procedures should I take against Celebi and Latias? Tar seems like the obvious choice, but sometimes it gets hit pretty hard on the switch in, and I won't be able to pursuit or crunch, since I'll be outsped and killed the next turn.
Hey KG, while tutoring is over, I hope you don't mind if I ask you a few questions about the team we made when we first started the session. Firstly, would Quagsire be a good replacement for Rotom? I saw someone on ladder using a team similar to mine, except they used Quag over Rotom, and it actually might help me a bit, in handling things like Scizor [if Gliscor falls to it, somehow], Scrafty, Landorus, etc. Also, I was thinking of giving Forretress Gyro Ball over Volt Switch and a Shed Shell over leftovers, as it's the only thing that can really stand up to Haxorus after Gliscor dies to it, and Gyro Ball would also prove useful alongside sturdy, which would allow me to survive hits from and kill things like Volcarona with a few Quiver Dances under its belt, at 30-40% health.
Hey KG, should I send in the Tutor Evaluation thing yet, or should I wait until the Round 52 Tournament starts/finishes?
Unfortunately Kevin it doesn't quite work out the way you probably think it does. Destroy does not equal negate. So if they play Pot of Avarice and you chain Spell Shattering Arrow (Living Arrow) you will destroy the Pot of Avarice, burn them for 300 but Avarice will still resolve. In Yugioh to stop a normal spell card, you have to negate it with something like Magic Jammer for example. In the case of Pot of Avarice however, since it targets 5 monsters in the Graveyard, if you happen to chain a card which targets one of those 5 monsters and remove it from the Graveyard, Pot of Avarice will fail to resolve and that is how people block that spell card in competitive play.
Hey~ I heard I was subbed for the tourney because of my computer problems at the time. (Which at the time I had asked PlatinumDude to inform you of this, I was under the impression I wasn't getting a new computer until around the 11th.) Um, well, long story short, we got a new computer last night, and I'll be installing PO today. If you could put me back in as a competitor, that would be great. If not, that's fine too. I'll be fine with being subbed. ;3
