I NEVER am. I'm usually brushing against 60, and it also depends on how many Pokemon you have with you. I find it easier to train with less than six, hence why I'm sticking to 4 on Platinum, and I think he mainly used Staraptor, Torterra, and Azelf, so three is even easier.
