I'm not just thinking about the gaming side. Otherwise I'd just stick with the Lycosa. The MX Browns are mechanical switches for typing. Reds and Blacks are the "gaming" switches.
The main thing for gaming is quick and defined actuation. For typing, you want actuation feedback and smooth and consistent keypresses. A mechanical board with Browns fulfils all of these criteria.
Still, gaming is 80% of what my desktop gets used for. Most of the typing work gets done on my Macbook. Hell, I only installed MS Office on my desktop a few months ago. So it makes sense for me to focus on the gaming side entirely. But even so, a nice keyboard is still a nice keyboard - it's all in the keys. I still retain that Logitech keys feel like crap. I don't mind good scizor scissor keys (like some laptops), but they're hit and miss. The only current laptops that feel any good to type on for me are the Apple, Acer and Alienware keyboards. Toshiba and HP in particular are putting out rubbish and you're stuck with your keyboard for a laptop.
