RESOLVED:
So as no-one came back to me on this, I did a fresh install of PEv16&16.1, fresh install of this project too. no longer have this issue.
However, question time again:
Firstly, the battlers that are animated, show up as a long line in the Pokedex, rather than just one animated image...
Sorry if I'm being incredibly dense or ignorant, but I receive this error on trying to playtest my game after adding your project to vanilla v16.1 Essentials:

Exception: RuntimeError
Message: Bad line syntax (expected syntax like XXX=YYY)

This issue is now resolved, with this being the correct solution:

Exception: NameError
Message: undefined local variable or...

Ok, so how about checking species in party upon interaction with said object and then forcing the evolution? I know that forced evolution can happen and someone has asked about that in the forum
So I've copied the start square and moved it to where I need it on a new map, game compiles fines, no errors at all, but the player is invisible. What little thing have I missed that is causing this?
Volbeat/Illumise and Tauros/Miltank, while we can suggest that they are male/female counterparts, are still separate identities. I think in the interests of fan-game creation, Nidoran can merge into one Pokedex entry because they share the same name; and are therefore definitely different forms...
