Don't worry about it. I was actually trying to reference the fact that ShinyDiamond and I were talking about completely different games from each other like they blended perfectly (they don't) — Unchained Blades and Fire Emblem: Awakening, respectively.

This would make him a better character, and believe me when I say that is the plan, but I'm doing this in progression. There's a rich background and assorted details that likely won't justify his temper, but lead to why he turned out the way he did. His lack of self-control and impolite actions are exactly what I think makes him such an entertaining character. These are things that will be fixed, yes, but it's not going to happen immediately.

It has started though. Befriending Eva was a rather large step towards his becoming a better person, as was his lack of fighting back when Ashling beat him down. If the plan continues another huge step will be taken tonight IC. But as I said, it will happen with time. The way people act and react to him is also a factor in his reactions. He hasn't done much whining, other than complaint about his headaches. In fact, he has yet to see the issues that need to be solved. Once he sees them, however, he might look for help (for example, help controlling his powers to prevent outbursts due to rage, or to prevent hurting someone he actually cares about, like Eva.)

So, in short, don't worry; that context will come, and once he figures out that he needs to change himself, it'll happen. His history will be revealed over time, his actions will e further explained when the time comes.

I actually didn't intend to have anyone be sympathetic of Solo (even with the history he has) though it would likely be brought on as people learn more about him and he actually shapes up.

Oh yes, and the Werewolf kid (and his lackies) do have a place in Solos history, so it was more than a simple fight. That will likely also be explained later.



Oh yes, and Ashling discovered one of Solo's fears; blades and weaponry.

I'm open to criticism, as long as it's constructive. I don't necessarily dislike your opinions, perhaps my first impression of you was somewhat of a downer though. I'll adapt, like I always do.

Besides, with such a friendly community, why make enemies?

There. I usually am kind of bland when I bunny others (because I don't want to play them wrong) so you're able to fill in all of that.

This actually works out perfectly. Eva can bring Solo back to his dorm (and probably get him an asprin to help him recover) and probably spend the night there, as Eva likely won't want to be in the same room with Ashling for the time being. There's some character development between the two in store there, and Solo will likely show softness the likes of which would never be expected.

And then, who knows, maybe Ashling and Solo end up getting along (as that's likely all that's going to be between mostly everyone - excluding Kaile and Eva, maybe the teacher - else and Solo) and she could ask him why he didn't fight back later, or something. I'm not sure how Ashling acts as I haven't really seen much of her (except for these recent posts).

There's actually a tidbit of history of Solo's that could be revealed with Eva if everything goes in the right direction. He's pretty much confused on his own feelings at the moment so a lot of it will be confusing for the time being. (But he's trying!)

I'm actually fairly proud of Solo as a character, it's surprisingly fun to play with, and every time I look at the future version of Solo (considering everything goes as planned) it still surprises me. The closest thing he'll be to a socialite, but either way, he's got much to improve. His powers basically eat up three times what they normally should, simply because he can't control them.

Jointed post? Alright, though you'd have to fill in her thoughts and the like afterward (seeing as I know little about the character). But yeah, that'd work.

Then Eva'd probably carry him back to the dorm or something.

I doubt he'd be too happy with his roommate afterward, though.

My initial reaction to that (in Solo's mindset anyways) was defense, surprisingly.

Sort of a surprising reaction coming from such a brash and bold character, but my thought was that he actually wouldn't fight back. Initially the first punch would hit (as he was not anticipating it) though each attack following would be blocked by a telekinetic shield (activated when he throws up both arms in a defensive stance). After noticing the powered blocking, Ashling would likely just attack with more force, enough that his telekinetic blocks would shatter and reform, draining his power quickly.

In which case, she could simply repeat until he's unconscious, or perhaps try a different method of fighting. Either way, Solo isn't going to fight back. It's also worth mentioning that under his shirt his torso is covered in bandages from the near-death battle earlier in the day, and could be abused.

There's also the possibility that she might notice his reluctance to fight her and react in another unexpected way (like stop fighting, demand that he fight back, or something along those lines) because this is very much unlike him.

It could also be taken into account that Eva might not appreciate Ashling attacking her loner friend and could possibly end up fighting Ashling as well once she sees Solo.

Or we could wait for Claire to post with Eva as he might jump in between and stop the fight or something along those lines, as he's practically been traumatized by seeing so much violence and not being able to defend or stop any of it.
