That's part of the reason I like the older games. You put a team together, give them moves and battle. You didn't have to worry about natures or EVs or any of that rubbish.

No, I haven't, hence why this is all a bit overwhelming. It's a bit like being able to swim, except you've spent all your time swimming in calm waters where there aren't any waves and you've used the same swimming technique throughout. Now, imagine someone comes and throws you into raging seawaters and tells you in order to make it back you have to learn a completely new swimming technique. It's like that.

Not really. It doesn't exactly fill me with confidence that I haven't got as far as naming my first Pokémon and i'm already confused.

Why did they have to overcomplicate things with Diamond and Pearl, seriously? There's so much stuff you have to consider that for someone like me it's overwhelming and massively off-putting =/
