  • bahaha, i remember not getting through that song because of that fricken sound. i think i just finished bee thousand, i'm not too sure bc i it flipped to built to spill? i didn't even notice until i checked to see what song was playing. there were so many good ones on this but i think my favorites would be somewhere tied between broken chairs, echoes myron, and tractor rape chain.
i also listened to a few from sunset tree. dance music and you or your memory are pretty good. i think the version of dance music was a studio one but stuff pretty good.
You should try listening to teenage fanclub. Their album, bandwagonesque, has a rougher, grungier sound if you are into that:

The Super Furry Animals are pretty damn good, though their style goes all over the place. I'd recommend checking out "Rings Around the World." That's one of my favorite albums of all time. I'd describe it as the Beach Boys meets Blur, Gorillaz and the Flaming Lips.

Also, not really britpop, but Blur's album 13 is really experimental. I would consider it to be Blur's "Kid A". You should check that out too.
Wouldn't say it was that eloquent! Being from the UK doesn't help with my viewpoint on this, the U.S. seems so backwards sometimes. :s
yes plss. it's has certified legitimacy, my mom told me to cut it off bc she couldn't stand my beatles hippie shit. if you had to start at any album i'd recommend ll, imo the whole album is pretty good but the songs @ the end are less memorable.
i checked out all hail west texas too, wasn't my favorite but i do like the lyrics. my faves were distant stations and pink and blue. before i got to their album i listened to this year (i think?) 10/10 would say it was lovely and so was the vid. i'm listening to bee thousand rn, album art is legit.
