  • It's probably impossible to make a good, representative film out of Lolita the book, given its plot and themes and whatnot. Kubrick tried and was forced to neuter it to within an inch of its life. Such a disappointment.
    RIP, PSH. :( I'm going to rewatch 2001 on the big screen in 70mm in a few weeks, so I'll get to see it in all of its beauty but yeah, no disagreement from me on that point. I'm sort of with you on EWS; I appreciate how other people really really like it, but it's definitely not for me. My least favourite Kubrick so far, however, is Lolita, which I absolutely cannot stand.
    that was a disgraceful waste of 10 valuable seconds of my life to click on and look at

    and a disgraceful waste of like a minute to write this

    did I mention you're disgraceful

    because you are. oxoxox
    That certainly makes sense: if you're watching really good films on a pretty consistent basis, your favourites should hopefully be shifting around a fair bit. I love A Clockwork Orange a lot. Kubrick in general... although I kinda find 2001 a bit too cold for my liking. Synechdoche is a really left-field choice, which is good! Especially for developing your taste.
    Thank you! I started getting into film when I was about your age... not to sound too much like an old man or anything! Hopefully you'll find some stuff that you really like. How about your favourites so far?
    the chance of our friendship breaking is now 11.11%

    and the 88.99% chance triggered :) I don't want to hurt you silly. We're bffs until I'm the one that disappears.
    Dog Day Afternoon, Fargo, WALL-E, Sunrise High and Low, Psycho, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, His Girl Friday, Cries and Whispers, and Dr. Strangelove. That's probably my top 10.
    we're not friends

    what are the chances of that

    12.5% to be exact
    Hmm, well I'm not much a social person myself so I can't say much xD I do~ It's quite..unused though, because I always forgot to scrobble lol
    Ahh I see. xD Obtaining music is like a very otherworldly process; it's like just chancing upon a shiny pokemon lol. Some of the artists I mentioned I've known since their debuts, and I've already forgotten how I heard about them. It's like...they just popped into life xD

    CHVRCHES had 8.5, but I found fault with a few of comments the reviewer made.. it's probably just me though lol xD;;
    I used to, then I disagreed with a few of their ratings (like CHVRCHES). I actually learnt about mutual benefit from a local indie music magazine lol. How do you find your music? I get a lot of music from my close circle of friends haha. Right now I'm in a very 'Glasser' state of mind; her music is somehow inspirational for me.
    Omg there's too many xD Chvrches, Daughter, Phoenix, Glasser, Lykke Li, Grimes, Foals, mutual benefit, Melody's Echo Chamber, Au Revoir Simone, Washed Out, Snakadaktal (now disbanded :/), Tennis, Beach House, Phantogram, Purity Ring, Crystal Castles. A lot of electronic/synth, as you can tell xD
