Wait I'm confused. You said you used genki textbooks then you said you don't use them. *is confruzled* I'm talking about Genki and Integrated Guide in Elementary Japanese. I've just really started trying to learn the kanji using the back of the book. I literally just ordered Kanji de Manga Box Set which is a manga that teaches kanji. I also just ordered beginner 8 cd set of Michel Thomas cds. Now I only have to order the advance set because there is no intermediate.

Yeah I know but i've only been using 私 when I'm studying so meh. You use genki textbooks too!? What lesson are you on? I'm on lesson 7 in genki 1. Do you use the workbook and the audio too or just the textbook? I just use the workbook and textbook. Michel Thomas was a French language teacher and all the reviews i've got from his Japanese audio is that it's great and works so I want to buy it.
