Crystal is right now an all graphics hack meaning nothing but maps, sprite, pokemon, etc. is going to be modified since no body here is a pro or really good with hex and its going to get a little off time since I basicly do this alone and I got sprites to upload to my deviantart file and then I still have to adjst to my new huge school or I'll fail next term too. Just a whole lot of crap to deal with it for a while til I can make out a schedule or habit. Besides, now for real my flashdrive is gone- it crashed. All that work other than crystal is gone. We're not quitting on pokemon elektric yellow but its going off for a while. So, I'm just really really busy and slow right now... What about you?

As long as it has nothing to do with Gary Edition, I don't care.

About two or three months. I have worked with sprite hacking in Sonic games though.

It is going good I guess. I'm going to take care of the other stuff after I finish the visual aspects of my hack. I'm just looking for an experienced programmer who will program with me side by side.

thanks, I'm now using this new computer I got in my room so I ca hack better, plus ear plugs to stop distractions. Now all I need is to drop out of highschool in freshmen year, lol. jk, can hack on weekends like today so maybe tomorrow you can see screenies!

yeah right, I would get my ass kicked for that since I started the project and we're going to head into beta in another week or so. We will at least have all 8 gym areas and all legend areas (except for special event legends) complete before giving up the project but that is a big beta if I do say so myself.

Well, I don't know if I'm really that good, after all, I only really elaborate on what Darthatron's tutorial says. If you want I could send you the source to one of my programs, then you can look at it and see what does what! It's usually the best way to understand!

You could always download Visual Basic 6 Portable. Its only about 6MB and is stand alone with all the functions of the 125MB one that you need to install. Try googling it to find a working link. You'll find it eventually...

Well, the best place to start is with Darthatron tutorial in the Toolbox! Try to make his test DP starter program, and see how you get on. By the way, you specifically need Visual Basic 6, as this is what his tutorial uses and the language I code in and "understand" :D

When you have done that find some hex values in a ROM and see if you can change them in the same way. Combo boxes are the easiest way to edit information as you can just convert the listindex into hex and write it back!
