Hello everybody looking at my profile/post. I am looking for intermediate ROM hackers or advanced ROM hackers. Reason why is... I am currently in the process of making a hack of FR and came across a few problems along the way. The story is basically based on the character Jimmy from the Chronicles. I don't believe anybody has thought about, currently working, or finished this idea yet; and I would like to be the first. So the story is going to be based in the Johto region (Jimmy was in the Johto region) and will have all the gym leaders that are in Johto. I will not be doing Kanto and Johto in one hack, reason is that would make the hack seem more like Gold, Silver, and Crystal version with a different story. Nor will I follow any scrips from the series as well. I might take a couple like the Red Gyarados just because it's Lake of Rage and the red Gyarados was mentioned in both the games and the anime; except mines going to be a little different. Also in the hack Jimmy is not required to pick Cyndiquil as a starter so the players playing this hack has the choice to choose between the 3 Johto starters Chikorita, Totodile, or Cyndiquil. Team Rocket will be used in the hack but not the team rocket everybody is familiar with (Jesse, James, Meowth) the team rocket I have in mind is made up names for the leaders of the team. I might add Giovanni at a couple spots in the game but not sure yet. The leaders will be nothing like the anime with Ash where they come up every last second they will show up every couple of towns/cities or have will come up leading to some event especially with legendaries. I will also add another evil team not sure what the name will be and would like opinions from you guys. Jimmy's rival will be the one girl can't remember her name but was mentioned in the Chronicles and his other rival will be some undercover leader of the evil team and the player doesn't know about it until a certain event in the game. Basically the rival will work with you and trick you into thinking hes on your side and its just part of his strategy to steal everything the player has ever done (will go more into detail about what the player gets) and betrays the player and betrays his pack as well leaving him on his own. So after the player finds out what the evil person is all about the player then gets a ship to an island where the event will take place and will have events after events getting more and more exciting as you go. Having side mission along the way. There will be no gym badges but you will only have 5 badges at this time. So will the player be able to stop the mad man or will the player keep falling for his traps and mind games. Play it and find out!
I will be needing a couple experience hacking people to accomplish this hack. I will need someone who can script, I will help with the scripting I would like some help and opinions to make it more interesting. I will also need someone to help with sprites; I don't have the experience with this and will help as much as I can to the person doing this. I will be doing the map editing with tiles and all that good stuff. All I need for that is someone who has a good layout for the Johto region. I don't want it being the same as the series but would like it to be following the same concept with Cianwood being across sea and Mahogany town being snowy, etc. I have found a Day, Night, and Season tool for the hack but still don't know how to use it so day and night will be in the hack. If there are things I forgot someone let me know and if you would like to do any of these then let me know. If you have experience in anything in general about hacking ROMS let me know what you can do and I might consider it.
