Okay, it's quite a hard book to describe. It follows this boy, when we first meet him he's about 12. He is extremely intelligent, and he's a member of a travelling community who perform liberal arts and shows. The time is way before ours, so they travel in wagons. When we meet this character, he is in fact grown up, an adult, who owns an inn. After some time he tells the story of his past, he is infamous, he is a very talented musician also. Who basically gets good at everything he tries his hand at. He eventually attends a university where he studies something called "sympathy", which is like magic. He begins to discover that there's more to the world than meets the eye, that fantasy is under the nose of society in reality. It follows him across 3 books, 2 of which have been released, where he tells his unexaggerated version of his life to a scribe, given that his name has a lot of weight and stories are attached to it.
It takes place in a fantasy world where names hold a lot more significance. The scary thing is that you feel it to be believable as you read. The book has everything, it's emotional, it can frighten you, it can make you laugh, it has a lot of humor, romance, and adventure. It's one of those books you really need to just go and read.
You might relate to it the way I have.
