Its just my opinion on teams combined with my preferences. :/

I am under no allusions as to what is required to make a hack by myself. I just saw the other option that was open to me and felt like I wouldn't have as much creative freedom if I was strapped to a team.

Most of the famous completed Hacks are actually made almost soley by one person. While other people might chip in from time to time with an advanced script here or a tile there, the majority of the work is left down to one person.

Besides, teams are generally slower than one person working alone if that one person is fired up and knows exactly what they are doing. A great amount of coordination is needed in order to have the hack proceed at a swift and steady pace, so much so that it actually requires the expertise of a comrade from Stalinist Russia.

I'm doing mine on my own, and I've really only been hacking for a month and bit.

You don't really need a team, but basic experience is a must. Have you done simple person/ sign scripts and do you think of yourself as a decent mapper?
