I think thats the easiest way to do it, but i live in the highlands in scotland so the chances of finding stuff s limited, i have to look online lots unless its very simple clothing. I want to do lulu from final fantasy but she looks really difficult to do and i have no idea how i would find a base for it

Yeah, online battling is about having the "perfect" Pokémon and the best movesets. It's a pretty crazy process. I think that takes the fun out of it, but as long as you enjoy the game, I think it's great.

I've done a few minor cosplays but tend to just make them out of whatever I can find in my wardrobe or going cheap in the shops, but there are a few big ones I want to try just im not very good at making costumes

No problem, Im used to trying different hairstyles and dawns is one i really like. yesterday i was trying to do misty's but as my hair is very long i had to pin lots of it up first. Still im only one set of red braces away from a cosplay. do you make all your costumes yourself?

Hey so I was looking at your cosplay, Which is awesome btw, and had some ideas for your hair (you said you were looking). So from playing with my own hair and trying to pokemon hairstyles i have found that Dawns hair is achieved by making a small pony tail at the back of your head taking two Strands of hair from the pony tail and leaving one strand in the middle and pinning one of the two strands on either side of your face. Hmm I'm thinking pokemon that are from trades/different trainer just have a box around them when you view their stats? In Diamond version? Because the Mew that Wonjoon traded me is like that also. So I think it's not a problem.
