Have you ever heard of "Boycott Alabama"? It was made by a guy that hated Alabama because they were so adamant in having GM and Chrystler and Ford fall to the crap that he wanted all of the other 49 states to not buy things from Alabama.

Well, shows you the inefficiency of it all. I still hold a strong opinion on California not trying to act so pompus all the time though, and thinking about other states when they blabber out of their ass about outrageous gas milages. And... this is why I want the GM Volt to come out... now. Anyhow...

The reason why Michigan is failing in the economy are two reasons - Granholm's an idiot by outsourcing jobs to other STATES and because the auto industry is tanking. Damn economy. At least our parts are cheaper than those of Japanese cars, which might boost sales... a bit...

IMHO California is ass-backwards. Get out of there as soon as possible. No one working for the government can manage money for [bleep]. If they are in so much debt that they're worried about rationing water because they can't buy it from other states... gawd. The gas milage laws they're trying to make the entire country go by are simply ridiculous at this time. Most other people don't understand why, but it's VERY difficult to raise gas milage without support from the government. Michigan may be in trouble, but it's because of our industry (and Granholm, but that's another story).

Michigan will wilt to nothing if GM goes down. That's for sure.

Well, how long were you guys unemployed? If you can go without a job for more than 6 months, I'd say your parent's are really good at managing money. However, it also matters how much they stash for situations like that.

Naw, I live in Michigan, so unenployment is sadly common. (the reason why the illegal immigrants from Mexico aren't very well looked upon here are because they tend to take up space in the work force, whether they're getting paid well or not...)

However, we manage our money very frugally, so I think that even if dad was unenployed we wouldn't be going hungry. In fact, I think we'd just move to either Britain or Germany. It's unfortunate for those without the money, though.
