I saw "the oul Pope" yesterday when he went out for his little Wednesday chat. I told him how much of a bad Catholic you've been, then he said something into his microphone and everyone in the crowd cheered, so I guess you're going to hell?

Not sure how much of 'real Rome' I saw, but I did nearly throw up from eating too much carbonara at this little trattoria yesterday evening, so that was fun! Florence bound as I type this. Molto bene!

You must be keen to post that twice! Rome is nice, but very hot. It's been 30+ for, like, the entirety of my stay so far! Hence retreating to a bar with free wifi! Done the Vatican (very pretty and immaculate and slightly overwhelming), Colosseum/Forum, and have spent today mostly wandering around trying to see 'real' Rome (although I will be seeing the Trevi Fountain later... I'm a tourist at heart!) And then on to Florence tomorrow! Fun times, and the first time I've been to Italy at all!
