I can get behind Gen II. I definitely enjoyed playing Gold and later Crystal as a kid.

Emerald has the best storyline of all the games. I place it over R/S because the intertwined story of each team brought together is what makes it great for me. I really enjoyed the Battle Frontier as well when it first appeared, so that was enough to satisfy me as far as postgame was concerned.

True, it's certainly different from the ALO villain, for example. At least from what it looks like so far.

And I did try to watch .hack//sign once but didn't really understand much and I guess I kept comparing it to SAO which seemed a lot more believable somehow. Might give it another shot though.

The whole thing (SAO) is based on some kind of novels, right? I imagine it's not easy all the time to do a just adaptation, maybe the pacing for Aincrad worked better in the novels and just seemed a bit weird for an anime.

I found a sort of SAO-movie, which featured the girls from Aincrad and Shugu going swimming while Kirito had a meeting with some dude where he had to retell his SAO/ALO adventures. I watched that sort of summary instead of watching the whole thing before SAO II :3

Actually, sadly, I think the new season started off realllly slow paced and is a bit unlikely. It takes several episodes before Kirito enters GGO and he is a bit too strong and skillful for things to be believable imo. Then again, maybe that's just my thinking since I actually liked the fast pacing of the Aincrad arc, which everybody else seemed to hate :p

Have you seen the latest SAO episodes?

HG/SS NEVER?! Man, that is tied with FireREd with being the best game (though I think FR has a bit of a nostalgia edge for me).

It has to be Gen III. FireRed constantly has a running file going on it and Emerald is one of my favorite games due to the story and weather battle (really disappointed that OR/AS are going to separate the legendaries). I thought of saying Gen IV because of the Physical/Special split and the fact that HG/SS and Platinum are fantastic games, but I still think the Gen III games beat the Gen IV games by a little bit, so that's what I'm going with. What about you?

Probably in a club, I think I saw it on a post in the OR/AS section a while back too. Either way, it stuck with me since it kinda baffled me that a mod hadn't played the latest game :P

Yeah, you definitely have to get it before OR/AS, or that'd just be sad :P that's going to be a fantastic game.
